Ch. 19: Unfazed

Kihyun

~a few days later~

Lately, Hyunwoo has been helping do things around the kitchen. He even offered to walk me home after work once to when I decided to hang back for a half hour to do some paper work. It is almost as if he...wants something. "What do you think, Mochi?" Mochi looks at me weirdly before going back to sleep.

"Fine, don't answer me," I told him before leaving my room to wake up Hyungwon. But to my surprise, he was already awake and getting ready for work. "My word! Has the world come to an end for Hyungwon to wake up by himself? The horror," I said dramatically while clutching at my shirt. He just rolls his eyes at me before buttoning the shirt of his chef's uniform.

"I only woke up early because I couldn't sleep with you talking to yourself since you woke up. You know that talking to yourself is not healthy, right?"

"How so?"

"It means that you are lonely."

"Psh, I am not."

"Sure you are..."

"Seriously."

"Oh yeah then why were you hinting at a certain someone in your monologue?"

"A certain someone? Who?"

"Are you seriously asking me as if you do not know who I am talking about?"

"...yeah?"

"You'll find out eventually," he sings before walking out of his room.

"What bull shit is he talking about?"

~the restaurant~

*bell chimes*

"Good morning, Junmyeon hyung," I said as I spotted the brunette talking to someone on the phone. He quickly says good morning back before returning to talk to assumingely and most likely his sheep. I shrugged off my coat and went to my office to set it down. 

But before I could get there, I smelled something really delicious and went towards where the smell was coming from. Seeing who it was, I leaned against the wall and observed him. Slowly, I found myself looking a little too long as Hyunwoo had been staring right back at me. Blinking rapidly, I  turned around hastily and made my way to my office.

Once I got inside, I locked the door and said, "Smooth move, Kihyun. Smooth move. Definitely proved that I was not staring at him." I laughed drily before groaning and then put down my coat on my chair.

~fast forward to break time~

"Someone needs to go buy some side dishes and what else is on this list as we ran out during the lunch rush," said Hyungwon.

"I'll go," I said as I took off my apron.

"You can't carry all of them by yourself," Minhyuk says through the opening in the wall.

"But...," I started.

"I'll go with you," said Hyunwoo.

"That would be great. Go with him," said Hyungwon.

"I can do it by myself," I said but to only get punched by Hyungwon. I smacked his hand away and rubbed at the area he pinched. "Fine."

~outside of the restaurant~

"Let's take my car," he states before walking over to a  sleek red sedan. I went to go open the passenger door but Hyunwoo already opened it for me and beckoned me to get in.

"Thanks," I said and got in. He closes my door before going around the front of the car to the driver's side. Feeling a bit playful, I hit the lock button to see how he would react but he responded with an expressionless face and just unlock the car with the key. I clicked my tongue in annoyance and crossed my arms.
