Hyunwoo

~two days later~

~after work~

"Come on! Hurry up. There is going to be hella people if we get there any later," Kihyun whines cutely as he tugs me along the sidewalk.

"Patience is a virtue, Ki,"  I said with a huge smile on  my face.

"No way! They said that the first hour is free if we are one of the first 100 people," he says in a vaguely condescending tone.

"Look. It's right there," I said as I pointed to the newly opened computer cafe/arcade. He lets go of my hand and runs over to the line. When I got there, he was counting how many people were there.  We were numbers 91 and 92. In the next second, Kihyun started rambling about what games we should play and whether or not we should play at the arcade too.

Once inside, I got slapped by the smell of ramyeon and other unhealthy food. After paying for our spots, we went over and sat down. Like lighting, Kihyun rapidly logs into the computer and onto the game he wanted us to play. At a slower pace, I did just the same, but had to take a bit longer as I never played this game ever before.

"Do you want to order some food," I asked while the game was processing my account.

"Mmm, nah. I brought food," he smiles as he pulls out four lunchboxes stacked on top of each other.

"Isn't it against the rules to bring in our own food?"

"Shhh. What they don't know won't hurt them," he says with a wink, and promptly shoves a piece of gimbap in my mouth. I quickly chewed it and swallowed as he held another piece in his chopsticks.

"Ahh~...," I said as cutely as I could. Kihyun stammers and drops the gimbap onto my lap. He flushes and hides his face with the hand that is holding the chopsticks. Suddenly, he shoves two of the four lunchboxes at me with my own pair of chopsticks, and turns back to face his computer.

~fastforward Kihyun telling him how to play~

"Cover me," Kihyun hisses as his character ran across the open terrain. I somewhat blindly shot at the enemies that were closing in and managed to kill two. In my head, I cheered for myself before following his character into the forest.

"Okay. We need to get to the Temple and get the gem," he adds without sparing me a look. I changed the map so that it would show where the enemies were, but discovered that I could not do that. I clicked my tongue and went into the dark tunnel slowly while keeping an eye out for something bad. Kihyun finds a potion in a small box under a lantern soon after.

Then, we came to the end of the tunnel. It split into two. "Let's go left," Kihyun says as he bites on his lower lip slightly.

"Okay."

Just as we turned in, the ground below us fell. We crashed onto the bottom floor thus losing a few HP and MP. Kihyun frowns at this and begins to lead us down the only way. Some time later, we encounter monsters that looked like a weird combination of a wolf, a monkey, and a shark.

Fighting our way through took a while as my character was not that skilled or high level. I nearly died twice, but Kihyun gave me some potions. Throughout this match,  I had leveled three times was quite impressive to me to say the least.

The next obstacle was a series of riddles. Some of them totally were gamer dad jokes. Others really made us think. After that, we finally got to the chamber that held the treasure box. The second we clicked on the box. The final boss shows up and blast us back sending us sprawling. We downed a few more potions, and buffed up before attacking what we thought was the weak spot of the monster.

When I was paying attention, the boss used its full range attack and killed me in one hit. Kihyun managed to put up his shield and deflect most of the damage. I sat back in my chair and watched Kihyun's fingers dance across the keyboard. His eyes trained on the screen. In 20 more moves or so, Kihyun manages to kill the boss and reap the rewards.

"YEAH,"  he shouts and looks at me brightly.

~thirty minutes later~

"Let's go to the arcade now," I said as the one free hour was up. Kihyun nods and quickly logs out before putting away the lunchboxes. We went over to the arcade side of the building and looked around for something we could play.

"That one," he says as he points to the DDR machine.

"Really?"

"You said you would show me your dance moves one day. So, today is that day," he smiles evilly and shoves me onto the machine.

"Only if you be my partner," I replied.

"Wah-, fine. But, don't be mad when I win," he laughs as he gets onto the other machine.

"Bring it on."

~ten minutes later~

Kihyun plops down and pants like he just ran a marathon. He wipes off the sweat on his forehead and glares at me.

"Hey. I thought you said you were going to beat  me," I chuckled which earned a sharp jap to my calf.

"Not fair," he pouts adorably. I ruffled his hair and pressed a kiss to his forehead to make him stop. He stands up suddenly and knocks our heads together. We both winced and started laughing when we locked eyes. Kihyun stares at me as his laughter died down. In response, I stopped too.

He gets onto his tip toes and leans closer to me. Thinking that he was going to kiss me,  I leaned in with my eyes closed and lips puckered a bit. To my surprise, he flicks me on the forehead instead.

"Yah," I half shouted as I rubbed at the area he hit. He sticks out his tongue at me before pulling me down and kissing said area.

"Does it still hurt," he asks with an innocent look in his eyes.
