~during service~
The large party was due in an hour or so. Thus, we were quickly filling out orders for the tables who came in before so they could leave the restaurant sooner. I was on the fish station today so I was searing tiger shrimps, salmon, and tilapia fillets to perfection and adding my secret sauce to them when they were done before sending them up to Hyunwoo who was expediting today.
When I came up to hand him the order for table 7, he says in a low voice, "Help. I failed my test. I need Nerd Alert."
I paused and glared at him for uttering those words. "What did I say about not calling me that?"
"Nothing," he says with a goofy smile that made me want to smack him upside his head.
"Tsk, you're lucky that I...," I cut myself off and walked away to leave him in suspense, and curiosity.
"Wait, finish what you were going to say," he calls after me.
"How about no," I stated in a sassy tone.
He clicks his tongue and focused back on the task at hand. Two can play this game...
"Eww," Changkyun says from behind me.
"Shut up, Changkyun. Or I will let Jooheon try out his new prank on you."
"...pff. I would like to see him try," he laughs evilly which promised something suspicious was going to happen to Jooheon sometime soon. Sorry, Jooheon. I think I might have started something between you too.
~thirty minutes later~
"Ugh, I cannot believe that we are going to have such a huge party today. All the stoves are going to be on and it's going to be baking in here. That is not good for my skin. I'm going to need to get more beauty sleep after this," Hyungwon whines.
"Not to mention, we have to serve each person at the same time too," Seunghoon grumbled.
"Come on, guys. Don't despair. I am sure we can do this in no time. This isn't our first time serving a huge party," I chirped to only receive glares from the maknaes.
Next to me, Hyunwoo whispers, "Yes, Nerd Alert is here to save the day." The second I heard him say that I kicked him in the shin. He yelps and gives me a look of hurt.
"Just teasing~," I said in the tone people usually use when talking to babies.
