Here we go, peeps!
Up top is their uniform.Kiara.
Kiara.
Kiara.
"What? who's calling me?" I turn around and search for the rich voice that was echoing through the fog.
"Kiara"
I can almost see him if only this fog would let up!
"KIARA!"
"Ahhhhhhh!"
Thud!
"Nia! What have I told you about screaming in my ear, child?" I stare at my little sister with an angry look.
She looks at me and has the audacity to giggle.
"Well sooorrrryy but I've been trying to wake you up for the last 20 minutes," she says in a sing-song voice.
I roll my eyes before turning to my phone and seeing that it was 7.30 am.
"Oh, Crap!!!!"
I race to the bathroom to get ready. I don't want to get another "late" added to my report.
I hop into the shower as soon as it was hot enough and started to wash. I had my favourite Glow Lab body wash, rhubarb and rose-scented lathered up and down my body until my light caramel skin turned slightly pink under the hot water. As soon as I was sure I had cleaned myself thoroughly, I hopped out of the shower. I dried my poofy curly hair and rushed to get dressed.
"Kiara! Come get breakfast before the bus comes!"
"Coming!"
I quickly put on my school uniform, which consisted of a white shirt and a grey school skirt and a navy blue blazer.
I pushed my hair back with a hairband and rushed to get breakfast.
Walking into the kitchen, I was greeted by my mother and father. Jane and Edward King. They are quite important in our small town.
Mum is the mayor while Dad is the Police Chief. That got me into a lot of fights with the airheads in school. They were quite the power couple; they exuded confidence and authority.
It was almost otherworldly, to be honest.
Mum had straight brunette hair, hazel eyes and pale skin. She was like the moon, cool and mysterious. She was 5'10 and gorgeous, maybe I'm being biased, but if you looked at my mum, you'd say the same damn thing. She was a powerful woman. Everything about her screamed, "Don't mess with me or I will hurt you in my business suit and look fine as heck doing it".
My Dad had black hair that he kept reasonably short, dark brown eyes and rich dark skin. He was like the sun, bright and brilliant. He was 6'7 and built like a tank. One look at him and people would cower. He oozed confidence and authority that made people look up to him. He was more laid back than mum but just as protective.
My parents looked like they were from two different worlds, but they were great together. They'd always tell us that they were strong on their own, but together they were formidable. They compliment each other in a way that only fate can arrange. Mum was a thinker; she was calculative and intelligent. Whilst Dad was more active and action-oriented. They were the true definition of a power couple or at least as close to it as my town was ever going to see.
They had us, four kids. My older brother Liam, me, my little sister Lavinia and her twin, Jason. We shared their traits equally amongst us.
Let me break it down while I wait for my dearest mother to bring out the plates of food.
