Nox

The men and women in my group were huffing and puffing. Their wolves have been long allowed to laze around. Pushing them to their limit and beyond was taxing their bodies, but I took no excuse. Our bodies were made to withstand long hours of hard work. We rest when the pack is safe.

My eyes steal a glance over at my mate. My Princess. She was sparring with another female. Both were fierce but my female had a fire in her eye suggesting that she was enjoying this. Being a top warrior like her, being in combat was as relaxing as taking a run. The way her eyes shone reminded me of the day that witch took me as a hostage.

Her glorious curls flying in the air as her eyes gleamed with the satisfaction of victory. The power in her battle cry excited me.

This new form makes everything between us 1000 times stronger, more sensitive... rawer. It peeled back layers and laid all bare. She wouldn't be able to resist it but being who she is, she was an open book. Everyone knew her thoughts and emotions. She made her voice known no matter which situation she was put in.

It was one of the things that I learned to love about her.

Being mated doesn't mean that you instantly fell in love. It just means that your attraction to the other person is a million times stronger than with any person. But love was something mated pairs worked hard for...otherwise their mating will be painful and most likely to kill them in the long run. A loveless pairing is draining and that's true for all relationships, not just supernatural ones.

I snapped out of my trance when I heard a flesh hitting skin and grunts of pain behind me. Before the next punch can land I was between them, holding their heads and pushing them back like little boys. One was a redhead with a mess of curls on his head, his face was red and black eye was forming. The other was a blonde male, with a similar injury.

"What's this about?" I asked calmly. They might be grown men but to me they were pups. Neither of them spoke indicating to me that it was over stupid shit.

"Hmm...alright gentlemen. If you want to fight, all you had to do was ask."

I dragged them with me to a sparring circle that was far from everyone. "Everyone get back to training. The next person who looks this way gets to join them." I announced and almost immediately they obeyed. An Alpha command was hard to defy but the command of an Alpha turned lycan was impossible to defy.

Although they immediately turned their back to spar, the rest of the pack had their eyes glued to us.

I was assigned the most troublesome group for one simple reason. I do not tolerate any form of tomfoolery.

I dragged them to the front and faced them against each other.

"The rules are simple. Fight to the death and the victor faces me." I looked at each of them in the eye. Their eyes went as big as a plate before they looked at each other.

"What are you waiting for?" I asked, dead serious.

"It's nothing." the blonde one spoke up first. I had noticed him before...he was often cocky and selfish. But he had never acted up till now. I also recognised him as the one who held Kia by the neck when they kidnapped her.

The redhead was silent yet broody. I also remember him as the one I chocked for information...literally. these men were both there when my mate was kidnapped and brought to Blood Moon. Let's just say I was not the biggest fan of them.

They were both young, well-muscled and were still in training. Strong blooded Gammas. The blond had such refined physical features, he could've been a noble back in the mage city. The ginger looked like a fighter. Like life showed him the worst parts of itself at a young age.
