"Eric"
She was soundly sleeping as I laid her on one of those long chairs by the pool, while I went back and quickly tied up the invaders. I made a noose and tied the end to their hands and feet. That way, if they struggled or tried to shift, they'd suffocate themselves.
It was a good thing that her house was the only one down this lane and that the backyard, where the pool is, was an open field that led to the forest. Otherwise, neighbours would be complaining.
I went back to the pool and took her in my arms. I just held on to her. Reassuring myself that she was alive. Just sleeping. But the tears came on their own free will. As drops fell on her face, I thought back to the last time I held her like this. It brought more tears. When I heard the wolves starting to come to, I placed her back gently on the lounging chair and wiped my face.
I was going to get answers out of these pathetic excuses for wolves. And they better give it to me.

When I woke up, I was completely confused. One minute, I was standing in front of my bodyguard, watching that mean looking wolf come down on him...the next minute, I was in the lounge chair by the pool.
I looked around and saw him standing over the wolves that tried to attack us. Before I could stand up, someone grabbed me from behind and pressed a piece of cloth to my face. I started feeling drowsy again and before I could call for help, I was out.
Can this night get any worse?

It took me a total of 5 minutes before I could extract their pack location from the wolves. I command their beasts to stay dormant and they obeyed, much to the surprise of the group.
I tied them up in a line for walking since their pack was only a few miles away and turned back to put her to bed. She didn't need to witness the exchange and bloodshed that might happen. But I couldn't find her. Her scent was wafting towards the forest and a note was in her place.
If you want her back, bring our pack members, unharmed, or she will suffer the consequences of your actions.
I felt my beast go rabid. It seems that everything I do to protect her puts her into more danger. He was sad and howled a soul piercing howl for his lost mate. I started to believe that the fates were working against us. In my murderous rage, I turned to the first man I see. The one who grabbed her.
"If they hurt her, I will slice open your throats faster than you can blink. But I'll leave you for last Gamma." I spat out. His eyes widened.
