^^Dolly Parton (with green eyes) as Lydia Rhodes.

I arrived at my dad's precinct and nodded to the lady in the front.

"Hey there, Doll. How was your Day? Heard there was a plumbing problem at school." She said with her green eyes sparkling with mischief and a perfectly groomed eyebrow raised.

I smirked. Lydia was about 5'5 with big blond hair. She was super nice and was always upto date with the latest news in the town.

"Where did you hear That?"

"When the most richest person in town comes and tried to report the school, it's not hard to figure out why" she says with a laugh.

In a tiny town, where everyone knows everything about everyone, news spreads like mono at a spin-the-bottle game. If you ever suddenly forgot what you did yesterday, just ask a neighbour, they'd know.

"Touché" I say as I laugh out loud. "My day was fine, Lydia. Is Dad in?"

"He's with Freddy Smith's father, won't be too long no-.."

"THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!" a nasally male voice thunders across the precinct.

I turned towards the sound and see the Roland Smith, of the town's oldest wealthiest family. He stormed out with a dark look on his face.

"THIS ISN'T THE LAST YOU'LL SEE OF ME, KING!" he spat out with so much venom.

I watched as the short stature man walked out. Although Freddy was dark haired and brown eyed, his father was the complete opposite. He had ash blond hair and stormy blue eyes.

He stormed past me and left. I looked at Lydia for a minute before she cracked up laughing. You can tell she'd been holding it in.

"I swear I saw the steam coming out of his ears!" She wipes her tears as her laughter died down.

I laugh a little before heading to my dad's office.

"Thanks Lydia" I wave and walk to my father's office.

Oh boy.

"What brings you here, Kia?" My dad booms as I walk into his office and take a seat on the sofa to his left. I closed the door on my way in because what I'm about to say might make the other guys in here question my sanity.

His office wasn't that big but it was the only cubicle with a door. The rest of the precinct was an open floor with those cubicles that consisted of four working areas and a meeting room.

"Hi Dad! I don't need a reason to want to visit my old man, do I? I replied cheekily.

He chuckled before responding, "Not necessarily, but I know by the way your fingers are tapping that you're not here for an after school visit. Where are your siblings?"

My bad habit is tapping my fingers on my lap when I'm nervous or thinking. In extreme situations I chew on things. It's horrible, Yes, but I can't help it.

I looked him in the eye and and told him everything that happened in school. He sat there without saying a thing, listening as babbled on about the water felt like it was singing to me.

I'm a daddy's girl, always have been and always will be. I feel like I can tell my dad anything. I would tell my mum, but my dad lets me vent out everything before asking questions.

By the end, I decided to add in a, "I might be crazy Dad...I don't know how else to describe it."

He sighed deeply before looking back at me. His eyes seemed to brighten up a few shades as he regarded me.

I felt a shift in the atmosphere. My father stood up calmly but his face was blank as he told me to get my things and call my siblings.

When we got to his car, my siblings were waiting there after I sent them an Code black text. We had developed a texting code that has helped for the past few years.

Red- you're in trouble when you get here
Blue - not an emergency, but come as soon as you can.
Yellow - I need a favour
Black - drop everything and run here.

He drove us straight home where mom was waiting with a look that was said "Something was going down."

"Kids, get inside the house and pack your bags. Take only the essentials and leave the rest." My father spoke for the first time after leaving the precinct. It's a tiny town and the precinct isn't far from our home, but my father's silence made the trip seem like it lasted forever.

I was alarmed. "Dad, why?"

He looked at me with a look of a excitement and fear. "We're going somewhere special for your birthday"

We got out and walked to the house, mum hugged me and whispered into my ear.

"Just think of it as an early birthday
