They weren't standing to far away from the wall...closer range, stronger impact of spells. I swung my right blade across, letting its weight and momentum spin me, using the turn to bring up my elbow to the witch who tried to dodge my first strike by jumping back a feet or two only to lose balance and teeter forward. The elbow caught her on her nose as I heard a crack.
Training with Nox had been a blessing in disguise for moments like this. With my focus being on my armor and weapons, I couldn't use magic to level the witches as I wasn't in the mood for a long drawn battle. But the training had upped my stamina and endurance. Sparring with him and fighting against these bats was like comparing a mountain to a mole hill. I was used to using my entire strength to try and defeat him...even if it was friendly matches, it had set a standard with the force I used to take enemies down. George knew well how little restraint when it came to kicking asses.
With one down, I continued on to the next one whose power was higher than the others. Basic tactic, when faced with a strong enemy, take out their biggest asset first (almost always the bigger and more terrifying guy)...and watch their hopes fall like dominoes when you defeat them.
And fall they did. I took out two as did Nox. He shredded them easily to ribbons. I had seen blood and guts spilled on the battlefield, so I didn't flinch, but I couldn't bring myself to kill the ones I incapacitated...I felt like this body was a fresh start, I was determined not to spill blood in this form unless absolutely necessary.
I managed to subdue and knock out the witches who dared fight me. But there was a younger one, possibly no younger than 20, she stood up to fight. Seeing their mentors and elders down, the others were now holding on to each other and cowering from an angry alpha male. She eyed me with disgust and contempt.
I could feel her curiosity at my armor and weapons but she felt that her rage was righteous. And though it was common of young witches coming into power to feel a surge of arrogance, it annoyed me more than usual. Although this wasn't my real home, it had sheltered me and housed my family for a long time. It was special to me and they would just barge in and destroy it to please their mistress. I know for a fact that my parent's wouldn't have chosen the spot of this house if had been on anyone's territory. They distanced themselves from the wolves, the humans and the vampires. Magic claims are strong and they would have felt it if the land we stood on had one.
It was all lies, created by someone who saw other magic wielders as threats and looking to crush them to cement her own power and status. It revolted me.
I rushed forward and willed my swords to change form...my magic was slowly taking a toll on me but I would be damned if I let a little exhaustion get me down. Right as she thought I was charging in to stab her, the blade shifted and wrapped around her leg. She fired a fireball at me and I quickly rolled out of the way to dodge it. It brushed past me and would've singed the hairs on my forearm had I not had my vambrace on. She saw that my magic consisted of water, so she immediately countered with my polar opposite.
She was smart and cunning but my whip had wrapped around her leg. The minute I righted myself, I yanked it and retracted it. She was on her back and clawing the ground as she was pulled. The minute she reached me, I pulled back a fist to knock her out.
But I froze.
Something about her made me think of Nia, she had the same shade of tan skin that my sister had, but her facial feature suggested she was asian with straight black hair but she was short...I couldn't hurt her...so I let the whip slither up and tie her.
"Don't move or it will choke you to death." I warned her before throwing the other whip as a lasso to round up the remaining witches.
As we were tying them up, a few of the warriors from Missy's pack arrived with said she wolf leading them. She looked good...her body had toned and she had gained a few inches in height. It was the werewolf gene altering her form.
She set the warriors to guard the prisoners while I detained the rest of the knocked out witches. Nox had torn a few of them up but apparently they had protection. Their injuries healed and they were unconscious.
The first one I took out was coming out of her sleep.
"Nice of you to join us."
Nox had a sinister voice on that I knew he reserved for prisoners and traitors.
Her eyes went wide before narrowing down to slits.
"By defying us, you have signed your death warrant, wolf." She spat out. "Mistress Morgana will have your head and your pelt."
I was feeling a bit villanous so i tutted loudly.
"Tsk tsk...only I get to threaten him, castor." I winked.
Nox was at a loss for words while Erica had a mischievous smile and shook her head. She stepped aside from the warriors and came to join me.
"What are you?" The witch asked...not fearful or venomous but very curious.
"I am a mage, Kiara King and your worst nightmare."
