We were guided through gigantic ebony doors into a hall with a throne at the end. Some of the witches tried to get close but between Jamie's scowl, Erica's growl and my magic lashing out, they refrained. The girls were also dressed up in red.

Jamie wouldn't be caught dead in a fight with a dress so she opted for a red bralette and matching pleated pants, while Erica wore a red dress that was shirt in the front and had a longer back.

They got the memo that red was the theme. We looked like Charlie's Angels walking through there.

The witches mentioned a Throne of Thorns...we thought they were being metaphorical because the woman who led them was a thorn in my side...but nope, there was a literal throne made of thorns. It was all intricately woven and on it sat the head bruja herself. She had signature smirk on and it was pissing me off.

But I had to keep my cool. I didn't know where they kept Nox, so I couldn't afford to lose my cool before we even talked. The room had no windows and from what Rue told me, there was only one way in and one way out. It wasn't ideal for planning an escape but it was the only way we could go. Desperate times called for desperate measures...and boy, was I desperate.

Mason had driven Erica in but stayed outside. Only women and their pets were allowed into their sanctum. He waited with Rue at the car park. Funny enough, it was located at the mall that Freddy's father had helped to build. Beyond the car park, there was a wall with strange magic energy . It was on the side of the building so it was completely hidden from view and the humans would never have suspected that it was enchanted. They were hiding in plain sight.

Witches also had the ability to create infinite space in anything. I had witch friends back home who had tiny bags that could fit an entire pantry, cupboard included.

This building they had manifested had so many halls and doors but only had one entrance, limitations of their magic. As long as it had one entrance, the space would hold, therefore no windows.

When we reached the throne, she got up and curtsied with an amused smile on her face.

"Sisters, we are in the presence of royalty! High Princess of Alaktasia, Kiara, the water mage. captain of the elemental water squad in the royal army. It is a pleasure to meet you, your highness."
