The training was hard.

In the mornings, I trained the children with basic defensive moves that Kia and Mase taught me. In the afternoons I trained with the rest of my pack.

Alpha Lenox, Kia and Lavinia didn't let up one bit. But I enjoyed every last bit of it. The strain in my muscles and the beating of my heart reminded me that I was alive and conditioning myself to fight for my pack. Even though Mase was a Beta he was still put into a training group, Lavinia's to be exact. I couldn't help but look over every time he looked my way. I felt it deep within my soul every time he did.

It was funny how everything changed after mating. We were one in every sense of the word. Our bodies were in tune with one another, I had goosebumps every time he walked into the room.

A fist flying my way made me snap out of it. I dodged it easily but fell for the trap my sparring partner had set up. Our instructor came right over.

"Nice one Stacy, just remember to follow through, yeah? Visualise that you're punching through your enemy's head and pack enough power to punch through it." Kia smiled. She looked at me and had a sly grin.

"Now Missy, I know your mate is hot but could you not ogle him while you're in the ring?"

I matched her grin. "Don't let Nox heat that you called Mase hot, Kia."

She laughed as she walked away ready to "instruct" some more.

"Why does she call you "Missy", Beta Owens?"

Stacy was the pack sweetheart. She was always nice and gullible. She really didn't want to fight, but she was done letting people in her pack die with her standing by and doing nothing. She lost her only brother when the witches attacked.

"Kia has a weird thing for making nicknames for all her friends and Family. Instead of calling me "E" or something like that she decided that "Miss E" suited me better. Therefore, I have been known as Missy." I explained with a smile.

It was nice having my friend around again.

We sparred until it was time to hit the shower and have dinner.

Mason, having been throwing glances my way the entire day, trapped me in our bed. We didn't let ourselves be carried away because this dinner was important. I pushed him away but he threatened to punish me later for all the thoughts and images I put into his head. With a mate bond, we were able to link each other and feel each other but we were also able to send thoughts in the form of images to one another.

That's why I was so distracted during training.

Everyone gathered around and sat at the table. No one touched their food as we waited for Jamie to speak. Kia and Nox were seated together at the head of the table with Nia while Mase and I were at the other end.

Seeing them eat together was strange. Nia kept to here fruit juices and ate a little while Kia and Nox usually ate as much as we did. But they were so refined and proper...the sisters I mean. I guess living as royalty, that was just what they were taught.

Jamie stood up and started talking. Laying down the plan.

"We have two days left. You have all come a long way but if we are being honest, we are still no match for the forces that plot against us. I have a way to protect you against the witches attack but the physical fighting...they outnumber us."

The room went deathly silent.

"We two options. You either fight in your current state and hope to win or you evolve and triumph."

The chatter that followed was annoying. Nox stood up with Kia.

The Alpha spoke first. "Some of you may not know but I am no longer a werewolf."

The voices grew louder. One brave member stood up and bowed his head. "How so Alpha? We can still feel your beast and dominance, it is not something that can be easily changed."

The others agreed with his statement. Kia smirked. "Perhaps it's better to show you."

She looked back at him and her eyes were full of love and pride. Happiness looked good on her.

That's when the room started to shake. Not the actual venue but rather the people. The dominance coming from Nox was almost suffocating. We thought he's dominance was strong before, but this...this was pure savagery. The dread that filled us was indescribable. He stood on two feet, dark silky hair covering him from head to toe yet his features were still human. Black soulless eyes stared back at us.

No one made any noise or sounds. We were predators in this forest. We knew how a predator thinks and the common mistakes prey make. He is a lycan. First of his kind and an Alpha on top of that. He was magnificent to behold but the instance he shifted everyone bowed their heads in submission. Nia was fidgety clearly not completely immune to his power, but Kia was smiling. As his mate and a powerful supernatural she was totally fine.

So was Jamie.

When he shifted back, everyone felt relief. They sat down as the plans began to form. A vote was taken.

And the vote was unanimous.
