We were pressed for time. We had only 30 minutes and now we've wasted 10 of those minutes searching. Nia and Missy were heading to the security room to remove all evidence of our visit to the restricted areas. Jamie and I were creeping around the dark corners trying to avoid the cameras so that Nia and Missy didn't have to take too long in the security room. We can get away sneaking around the house but I don't think they'll get off so easy since they'll be inside the room that controls the safety of the entire mansion.
Right now, we were relying on our magic to pinpoint the exact location of the plants. I had a feel of the way the water flowed in this house. The building was gigantic and had alot of pipes, but from what Jamie told me, the plants had to be close to a stream of fresh water. It could be anywhere since modern day plumbing makes that really easy, but thats where Jamie's power came in. She could feel the moon energy in the stones radiating and calling to her. When she nodded in a ceratin direction, I'd feel the water flowing and if it pooled into a stream. It was a guessing game but we had no other option and were running low on time.
When we hit the 20 minute mark, we finally came to a peculiar wall. It was right where the secret room was supposed to be but it was covered in magic. Strong magic. Jamie closed her eyes and breazthed in deeply. Her eyes glowed as she smiled. "It's here Kiki"
I nodded. Summoning my Ice Blade...better to be overprepared than overwhelmed. I waved my hand over the wall and an entrance appeared. It was surrounded by black flames. Dark magic was at work here.
Magic like anything else in this world can be tainted by the darkness of the castor. It is usually a sign that castor had killed someone and tried to take their magic. It was a magic meant to kill everything it touched. Sure people can die from the use of elemental magic, but dark magic will infect and eat a person's soul, driving them insane and slowly killing them. It was the worst kind out there, and because of how destructive it was to the castor and the people it might come into contact with, our forefathers declare it forbidden. Anyone found with black magic was killed instantly.
"Do you mind if I cut in?" Jamie asked.
"Not all. Be my guest." I bowed to her which made her snort. She walked up to the wall and touched the wall. In the blink of an eye, the black flames swallowed her whole. She looked like she was on fire but not burning. She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe.
When she opened them, her eyes were like beams of light. It slowly spread from her eyes to her face and it slowly lit up her body. The fire looked like it was put out. Ashes fell from her as she dusted it off and the wall was replaced with a door.
"Have I mentioned how awesome it is that you have moon powers now?" I asked with a grin.
"You could stand to mention it more." was the cheeky reply.
We walked in and what we found was much more surprising.
Nothing.
It was an empty room. We looked at each other and back at the empty room. I put away my ice blade.
"There's no way that seal on the door was just to guard an empty room." Jamie said out loud what we were both thinking. We inspected the room a little bit more. Touching the walls to feel anything out of the ordinary. But everything seemed normal.
"It has to be here somewhere! I can practically smell the moonstones."
She was been looking at the skirting while I was inspecting the ceiling. It was a hole, the size of a nail, the only thing in this entire room and located in a hard to see place, the bottom corner that Jamie found. She put her finger on it and immediately yelped in pain.
"Jamie! You ok?" I took her hand into mine and drew a little water from the bottle I was carrying and used it to heal her finger. It looked like a needle prick but it was bleeding alot. While I focused on my glowing hands, Jamie stiffened a little.
"Uh...Kiki?"
I looked at her. "What?" I then followed her line of sight. I front of us, the wall was now shimmering and filled with divine energy. This was sealed by the power of a Divine. Jamie walked right up to it drew a few symbols on there, breaking the seal again and allowing us passage into the room. The room was filled with Divine mana. The same shimmery light in the seal was all over the walls and ceiling. It hid everything from the eyes of humans and supernaturals. Divine mana was on another level all together.
In the middle of the space, was a garden full of bushes with tiny closed flowers on it. We walked up to it and felt the richness of the mana on our skin. This place was truly blessed by the moon goddess. I created a portal and tranfered all the plants to the inbetween.
I got the message from Lavinia that they were outside the house where we first arrived. I portaled us to the front and then portaled home. When we got there, there was an ominous silence over the pack. Everyone was lined up and the moon was just starting to rise.
Nox raced up to me and hugged me tight, sniffing my neck and hair, looking for traces of any male and being very smug on finding none. What a dork.
Lavinia set up an air wall around the pack and sealed everyone in, reminding everyone that if they tried to leave without her say so that the air wall would tear them to pieces. But no one was turning away from this. They were all ready, their need to avenge their fallen loved ones culling all fear and doubt. Missy and I set up the moon plants, creating a stream and making it surround the pack members. The moon stones were wrapped in the roots, but as per Jamie's instruction, we were not to touch it. The flowers had to be in full bloom before we could use it's stored magic but they only bloomed in the moonlight and their power reaches its zenith.
All the wolves were in their underwear and standing together in their groups of friends, family and mates. My own mate was in front of Mason who had a line of shot glasses filled with his blood and venom. The pack members would have to drink of the venom and the blood to be able to change after Nox claims the pack.
With the moon slowly reaching its fullness, the flowers started blooming and the stones glowed with divine power. The light was almost too much for my eyes, but the minute I turned away the screams and wails of pain began.
This was going to be a long night.
