63. TDTF: Day 6 Part 1

*Hey fam, took this down and added more towards the end because it looked short to me. sorry for the non-existant updates, been busy with looking for work, deciding whether I wanted to go back to school and writer's block. I had finally found it after three days of research and digging around.

The Moonstones.

When Phoebe came to Earth all those years ago, she came across a particular kind of rock that shined like diamonds when she touched them but returned to black stone when it left her hands. They took in her power but had to ability to hold them permanently. Whatever supernatural created them must have used them as means conducting magic, just like the wands the witches use.

After toying with them for a bit she asked for advice from the Earth Divine to help her figure them out. They reacted to magic much like oil to the fire, but would not remain active without a steady flow of mana. In trying to solve its mystery, they instead figured out a way to use it to store power.

The earth is a neutral living element that can be used to convert divine power into storable energy. Together they created a plant that would absorb moonlight and convert its radiance into power that can be stored into the stone. They found as many of the stones as possible and fashioned roots around them then they crafted the plant. It had small white flowers that grew in bunches to increase its surface area of absorption and it only bloomed in the moonlight.

Thank goodness they wrote down all their findings and sealed it away. And I felt the Fates were just being pranksters when I found out that the book was actually once on the shelves of the library back when I and the girls used to sneak in to use it as a hideaway. Thank the moon that I kept all the books as a way of keeping my treasured memories with Kia when she was gone.

After combing through the storage house, I found the book. I remembered the little leather book. It was bound tightly and would not open so I just threw it into the shelf where old books that needed repair were.

This time, when I reached for the book, the leather strings that bound them came undone in front of my eyes and the book opened up. It took a whole day of combing through archives to find out where the exact location of the stones was.

And now, the girls (minus Rue) were with me to retrieve it.

"You sure it's here Jamie?" Kia asked me.

"I'm sure. It was women that Phoebe entrusted with the book, the seers, added notes to the book. Their kind was wiped because of the secret of the stones. They were hunted down and tortured for their location, now those moonstones are being kept here."

We all looked towards the gigantic house on the hill. It was located on the other side of town, looking down on all the people much like the inhabitants.

"Welcome to Asshole Estate...also known as the Smith residence." Erica chimed in.

Let's get this over with.

What happened this morning was nothing short of a miracle. Lavinia was with me, looking through the book and reading about the seers who were killed, Seb was cleaning up in the front. Right then, the one face we hated the most showed up, claiming that I owed him money.

Freddy Smith did this sort of thing all the time, usually when the whole place is packed so that he can show everyone just how loaded he is. I rolled my eyes and wrote the cheque. While he was spouting his usual bullshit, Nia was putting gentle suggestiuons in his mind. Like white blood cells of the body, the mind has its own defense system. Putting an idea straight in would cause confusion and even madness, but by putting certain thoughts into his head, making the idea come on its own is easier.

After finding out that the moonstones were at the Smith residence, Nia mentally suggested a party where everyone would get wasted and we could search the house. She also suggested that he invite us girls and not the boys because 1, he would piss his pants in the prescence of the two powerful males, 2, he would not take his eye off of us because of how jealous he would be because of Nox and 3, he would question himself later wondering why he ever invited the men to the party.

Of course, the two guys didn't take it too well, but boohoo. They had to take one for the team.

The males were left at home to watch out for the pack and to prepare the wolves for the gruesome change they were going to have to endure.

We were dressed up in bikinis because thats what he told us it was going to be and it was late in the afternoon. After much persuasion and coaxing Nox agreed to not come along but he made Kia promise that when she felt him moving through their bond that she would open up a portal to him and get him by her side. She agreed to his terms, but knowing him, I'd give him a few minutes before he used his super speed to run all the way to Kia. Funny how he was the Alpha male and the clearly more dominant one, but she had him wrapped around her finger and chasing after her like a puppy. I found it hilarious and teased her about it the entire time.

She drove up the drive way and parked the car right at the main entrance, knowing there'd be a valet there to take care of the car. Nia wore was classy one piece that made her look like a total goddess while Kia wore a blue two piece that really complimented her figure. I wore a black two piece while Erica wore a brown one that looked good with her tan skin. Needless to say, we had all eyes on us when we entered. It was flattering but not really great for our mission. We hung out for a bit at the pool, talking to soe of our old classmates and mingling with the others.

Nia looked sick. Kia took one look at her and smiled sadly. "She's trying to listen in on everyone's thoughts to see if there's anyone we needed to look out for, I think all those thoughts are overwhelming her a bit."

She walked over and hugged her sister, extending a calming and protective aura to the younger one. Lavinia looked relieved and thanked her big sister before continuing her search.

The plan was simple.

We get in, we search everyone to make sure there are no real threats against us, we sneak away to look and if needed, we charm our way out of there.

The search was getting frustrating.

We slipped out of the party but not before getting nearly every straight guy trying to chat up various members of group. Most of them just know me from the bar, they knew Erica from the hospital but the King sisters were the main attraction. Kia looking like she hasn't aged at all and Nia looking all grown up...it made a few of the women jealous and most of the guys drool.

After much convincing, we all went to the bathroom. I gotta say, I'm glad that it is just an accepted notion that women go to the bathroom together.

As soon as we were out of sight, we split off in different directions, having memorised the blue print that Lavinia was able to draw up (dont ask me how), we split into two teams. I was paired with Kia while Nia went with Missy. We started our search in Mayor Smith's office, we figured that there must bea vault with information on the stones.

Nia and Missy ran to a room of the house that was in the blue print but never seen. A lot of the mind searching Nia did over the past few hours confirmed this.
