My dad looked so serious as he continued.
"Your memories of a normal human childhood was implanted by your brother and he cast a spell on your friends to give them false memories of you growing up with them. So life continued as normally as possible. But we knew that when you recovered enough power, your magic would be back. And we all made a pact to return to Alaktasia as soon as it did."
I sat there staring at my parents. This is too much for me.
I stood up and paced. This can't be happening. Like holy crap! I'm centuries old, I have magic! I'm not human!
This isn't real. It can't be. That's it! I'm dreaming! I must've taken a nap and I'm in dream land.
"This...isn't-it isn't real! I'm dreaming! I have to be! This is a dream!" I was hyperventilating.
My mum rushed to my side and pressed her palm to my head and instantly, I was sleepy.
"Sleep for now sweetie," my mum sadly whispered while leading me to the gigantic bed. It was so comfortable, almost like a cloud.
"Ohhhkay mum"
Without another word, I dozed.

As I tucked my daughter into bed, I couldn't help but be sad.
She was a brave soul and no one should have gone through what she did. She looks so peaceful in her slumber, and tears fell down my face.
I felt him wrap his arms around me.
"Did you see her? She has trouble believing this." I whispered through my tears.
"She's strong, my love. She thought she was a normal human for so many years. It's only natural that she be in shock. We just need to give her time to adjust. But she will. It's in her nature after all. Water is the element of change."
I nodded and followed him out of our daughter's room. I hoped he was right.

Kiara KingI was floating in a cloud and then suddenly I was pulled down to the ground.
Blood.
Dead bodies.
And cries of war and pain.
They suffocated me and I knew in my bones that I was the cause of this suffering.
I looked around and saw my reflection on a huge chunk of ice. My face and clothes was stained with blood splatters. In my hand was a sword of some sort. Made of ice but the looks of it, and it dripped blood.
I was too distracted by my attire that I didn't see someone yank me down and just before something buzzed past my ear. I looked up and saw an arrow protruding from where my face was reflected a few minutes ago.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!"
A strong voice called from beside me. I turned and saw the most beautiful man I've ever seen.
His eyes and hair were dark like night. His frown didn't take away the handsome features he had. He had a scar on his eyebrow.
He was pissed for a moment before he looked at me closer and his eyes widened in realisation.
"K-Kiara?"
I looked as his dark eyes brightened up.
I touched his cheek. For the life of me, I don't know why, but it felt right. I felt the warmth and tingles spread through my hand and one word came to my mind.
Mate.
