The wind is cool,
Blowing strands across my face.
The sky is black,
And little twinkles of light
Surround us.Your arm is around my waist,
My head is on your chest.
The grass is beneath us.
I feel like it should itch me,
But something else does instead. An itchy feeling in my heart
That demands to come out.
It wants to show you,
To touch you,
To love you.Your arm reaches above me,
And points out the Little Dipper.
"There's the Big one," I say.Your eyes meet mine
And I don't feel weird.
It's not awkward to look into
Those beautiful seafoam waves
That wash over me.It's a calming sensation, really.
Your chest rises and falls,
Filling your lungs with the smell of my hair.Only the night sky knows what we do,
And only our hearts know what we feel. It's an unspoken love,
But one that everyone knows.
We don't do much,
But it's the little things that count.Whenever you're gone,
I look into the night sky
And think of you.
I know everything will be okay.I hope one day
You'll be mine
And I'll be yours
And the night sky
Can be
Ours.
