Golden sunshine rays
Wash over my face
As your smile washes over the world.
The grass sways in the wind
As we sway to the music.
Your lips are soft
Like the ice cream cone we shared.
The ocean waves are gentle
As we walk on the beach
And your fingers brush my cheek.
Here we are,
In a field of dandelions,
Love songs bouncing from petal to petal.
You are my dandelion
That brightens my world
With your golden hair.
You are my dandelion,
Soft in touch
And soft in heart.
Your heartbeat
Matches mine
As we hold hands.
Everyone smiles,
Everyone watches,
Everyone stares.
I used to be one of those people,
Staring,
As another woman got your love
And I was left to the side.
I pity those who have not found their dandelion,
For I would not trade mine for the world.
Even when we are apart -
Miles or oceans away -
You will always be in my heart.
I will pick a dandelion from this field
When you are gone
And I am missing you.
I will flip through the pictures on my phone
Of you and me smiling,
And I will hold the dandelion to my heart.
For you are my dandelion,
Infesting my heart
With a garden of golden waves.
Because you are my dandelion,
I will never let go.
