Chris' P.O.V
It's a quarter to three in the morning and my Dad still isn't here with Ray'vn yet.
I've been blowing up Ray'vn's phone for hours. She won't text me back. All my calls keep going straight to voice mail.
My anger is way passed it's max.
Jeremy has been trying to contain himself just as much as I was. If Ray'vn comes back here with one fucking bruise on her body or even a sign that he put his hand on her, I swear on my life that-
My Dad walked through the door, normal as ever. He walked over to the bar and fetched himself a glass of his usually.
After, he starts talking to Lenny and the guys as if nothing's wrong.
"So what you not gonna say nothing to anybody after we been waiting five hours for you and Ray'vn to come back?"
He turned and looked at me. "Do I look like a little boy to you? I'm not your son. What the hell do I need to tell you about where I was or what I was doing for?"
I took a deep breath to stop myself from saying something that will start problems.
"Where the fuck is Ray'vn?"
"Outside. She's coming."
I sat down and waited. I needed to relax myself. I didn't want to give myself anymore than I was dealing with already.
Ray'vn finally came in about twenty minutes later. I got up and hugged her. I moved back and looked at her. She had sweats on but her hoodie was over her head and her eyes glued to the floor.
I knew something was wrong.
"Ray'vn what's wrong with you?" She didn't say anything. "Ray'vn?" Nothing.
"Ray'vn! What's wrong with you?!" I tried holding her hands but she moved away. "Ray'vn!!"
"Chris, I'm fine," she said quietly. By now I was taking deep breathes. "Ray'vn look at me." She didn't even move. "Ray'vn I'm not fucking joking anymore! Look at me!" She started walking to the door. I grabbed her hand and turned her around. I held her close to me and pulled the hoodie off. She kept her face stuffed in my chest.
I stroked her hair. She was crying. "Chris I want to go home." I waited a few minutes. "Okay come on."
She backed away from me slowly then tried putting the hood back on her head but I spun her back to me too quickly.
My vision was blurred from the water in my eyes. She couldn't hide it anymore. All she could do was look away. "You hit her? You fucking hit her," I growled turning to Shawn.
He turned with a smile on his face. "What was I supposed to do? She wanted to be smart so I taught her a lesson." If I wasn't already hurt I'd kill him with my bare hands. "Ray'vn did he do anything else to you?" She didn't say anything. Her eyes were locked with Jeremy. He walked up to her. "Did he," J asked. She looked down.
"I want to go home." Both Jeremy and I scolded her. "Stop covering up for him Ray'vn. Did he do anything else?" "Can you just please take me home?!" Her voice cracked.
C-Click.
Jeremy had a gun pointed at Shawn who was lounging across the room in the bar chair, no fear in his eyes. J looked dead in her eyes. "Say it now. You have ten seconds or he's in lying in a body bag. I guarantee it." I knew Ray'vn saw the seriousness in his eyes. She was scared.
