Chapter 63: Crying Out For Me

"What was that for," Ray'vn yelled. I had smacked her with a pillow while she was sleeping.

"You need to stop raising your damn voice. Get up."

"For what?"

I looked back at her.

"I said get up, right?"

"You're so fucking annoying," she mumbled. She thought I didn't hear her. I caught her off guard when I slashed her on her leg with a wet wash cloth. "Ow," she yelped as she jumped back onto the bed rubbing her leg. 

"Keep being smart. I told you I'm not dealing with your shit," I said, hitting her with the cloth again.

I faked doing it again. She covered her legs with the blankets.

"That's what I thought. Go freshen up and get dressed. Dress warm; it's raining."

She rushed out my room to the bathroom.

An hour later, I was walking downstairs with Ray'vn behind me.

I grabbed the keys off the coffee table. "The bus got here yet," I asked my Dad when he walked in. "Yeah. Everyone's inside."

"We're not staying here? What's going on," Ray'vn questioned.

We ignored her.

"You taking them to the house?" "Yeah." "You still going to..." "Yeah." "Alright. I'll see you guys later." Before he disappeared out the door, Chris walked in from the kitchen with snacks in his hand, Cheetos crumbs on his face. We eyed one another then laughed. The second he stopped, I looked behind me. Ray'vn was frozen in place. "W-where's he going? H-he's coming with us?"

"What's the problem Ray'vn?" He asked walking toward her.

To get away from him, she hugged me. 

Chris laughed.

"Devon, you heard from my Dad?" "We'll talk." Then he disappeared.

Chris shrugged it off. "You ready?" I nodded, then gradually pushed Ray'vn outside to the car. We all hopped in. As I'm starting the car, Ray'vn asks where we're going.

"You'll see. Don't worry."

It took us nearly an hour to get to the other side of town.

I turned into the parking lot of Hinsdale Medical Center in the upper North side of GA.

When Chris and I slipped out of our seats, Ray'vn sat there as if she was looking at Madusa.

"Get out the car."

She still sat there refusing to move.

"Ray'vn it's too early for this. Get out the damn car," I yelled at her swinging the car door open. "J, I don't wanna go." "Ray'vn, we're in public man. Don't start," I warned, easily getting aggravated with her.

She screwed up her face and finally stepped out.

Chris tried holding her hand.

She moved away from him almost instantly.

I laughed.

"Let's go."

We walked into the hospital and I went to the front desk.

"Good morning. We're here to see Rayan Smith."

"I believe his visiting hours started already. Let me get you some tags and you can head on." "Thank you." The receptionist printed and handed us our tags.

We took the elevator to the fifth floor.

Since it was still pretty early and the hallways were pretty long, it was eery walking around at this time.

When we get closer to Ray's room, you heard loud, deafening screams and banging.

"What was that?"

Ray'vn now looked terribly scared.

When we turned the corner, we bumped into Rico and others leaving.

"Why y'all leav-"

All of a sudden Ray's room door swung open. "GET OFF OF ME!!" He struggled to fight off the male nurses. His skin was pale and he looked sick in the face. "GET OFF ME MAN! I HAVE TO GO SEE HER!" He elbowed one of the nurses. "I NEED HER! LET ME GO!!"

Ray'vn winced watching Ray in the state he was in.

As he was pinned to the wall by the nurses, he was kicking and banging his head against it. He fought. He clawed. He forced. He screamed. He banged. He swung. He cried.

When they were finally able to restrain him on the ground, his head was pinned toward the wall.

"RICO! Somebody! Ma! Dad, please! I know y'all still there. Tell them to let me go! I have to see her! PLEASE," he wailed. "I don't wanna be here anymore!!!!" The nurse relieved the pressure off his head. We all moved out the way instantly to show him, "she" was here. You knew the smile that was now stuck to his face was genuine and happy, but it looked devilish. "Ray'vn," he yelled with glee. "Babe, please, tell them. Tell them to let me go Ray'vn. Please! Tell them I'm okay! I just need you and I'll be good!" They locked his hands up with some sort of bands.

Ray'vn stood there, horrified.

I don't even wanna talk about the amount of tears and extent of her sadness at this point. 

"Ray'vn, baby, tell them!! I miss you Ray'vn, please," he cried out to her.

She shook her head no.

Ray managed to calm himself enough for the nurses to loosen their holds some. He began working toward us.

"Ne, I'm begging you. Please. Get me out of here. I hate it. I just want you."

Ray'vn backed away from all of us. She looked Ray in his eyes, slowly shaking her head no.

"Ray'vn, no, no, no!!! Don't do this to me," he screeched.

She did it again.

Just then, Ray completely lost it.

If I were to tell what we experienced in that moment, it may seem like an episode of American Horror Story.

Ray'vn finally couldn't take it anymore and ran off. 

Rico ended up having to catch Ray's Mom who fell out.

We didn't wanna stay for this. We told Ray's Dad we were gonna go.

As we walked back to the elevator, Ray'vn had already disappeared. We got to the lobby, she wasn't there. She wasn't at the car either.

I looked at Chris, frustrated.

Where is she now?
