Ray's P.OV ( Sunday, August 19, 2012 )
2pm. Just like any other day, I've been laying in bed since this morning thinking. Ray'vn has been on my mind constantly. The moment we shared yesterday was like no other that we've ever had. I would replay that over and over to make everything better.
My mood was too good for me to just be home and contemplate. I had to go out.
I rose out of bed stepping out of my room. I made my way to Kay's room.
"Come in." I slowly pushed the door open seeing her laying on her stomach in bed reading her magazine. "Hey." She rolled her eyes looking back down at the magazine. I smiled then sat at the side of the bed. "What do you want Ray," she asked looking up at me. I chuckled lightly.
"What? I can't even talk or see how my little sister is doing?" She scoffed rolling her eyes without a care in the world. "You don't give a damn about me Ray. I'll be fine. Go back to Ray'vn."
My eyes caught the picture of me and her on the dresser by her perfume. I picked it up then laid next to her. "You remember this shorty?"
A smile appeared on her face. "Yeah," she responded shyly. "You miss this don't you?" No words escaped her mouth, her lips were sealed shut. I set the frame down so it leaned up against the bed frame.
Kay was soon sitting on my lap with my arms snugged around her. We stared over at the photo together.
"Baby girl, I'm really really sorry for everything. When I say this Kay I mean it... I miss my little sister. I really do. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be in this condition. I don't want us to keep fighting. I don't want you to hate me Kay."
Her expression showed confusion. "Ray, what are you talking about? I don't hate you. It may seem that way but I could never."
She sighed heavily.
"What I hate is that you were so caught up on Ray'vn and put her before me as if I didn't matter to you."
"It hurt. We've always been there for each other and..." The room became quiet. I could see that she was on the verge of beginning to cry.
I laid her head on my chest, stroking her hair softly.
"Don't cry. You don't have to worry about me not being there anymore. I made up with Ray'vn yesterday so we're cool."
"So, you wanna go out today? My treat. I wanna spend some time with my baby sister."
She looked up at me smiling. "Really?! What are we gonna do?" Once again I chuckled. "Go shower and get dressed. We'll leave in about an hour alright?" She nodded her head rapidly like she always did when she was three.
"Alright. I'll come back soon to help you downstairs, okay?" "Mhm."
I laid a soft kiss to her forehead. Then I remembered. I turned back to Kay and stood by the doorway.
"You wouldn't mind if Ray'vn came would you," I asked hoping she would say yes. "I mean she doesn't really have to. It's cool." A smile spread across her face. "Ray shut up and just invite her to come. You're acting like I'm gonna attack her."
I nodded slowly, my eyes speaking for me as to tell Kay 'thank you'.
After I had left Kay's room, I went to call Ray'vn who had still been sleeping. Of course it's just like her to be the one to be sleeping at this time of the damn day. "Wake your ass up. You shouldn't be sleeping."
