Everyone always thought Detective Olivia Thomas wasn't tough enough to work on the force. However she always suprised everyone. That was how she liked to live, through spite and determination. Not one to be outdone, she even graduated top of her class at the academy, became one of the most promising young detectives in Detroit, and is partnered with one of the best lieutenants in Detroit.
Well, he was one of the best lieutenants in Detroit. He used to be exactly like Liv: hardworking, driven, on time. Now he was a depressed drunk with a short fuse who didn't really care about his job, especially when it came to the time he got there. So like usual, Liv was waiting for about an hour for her partner, without any idea of what to do until then. She had finished all her paperwork already, so she decided to make coffee and tea for her and Hank to kill a little time. She only stayed long enough to say hello to Gavin and Chris.
When she got back, she saw an andriod rummaging through the things on Hank's desk. She didn't recognize him; he was a different model than the others they had, and he wasn't wearing the normal DPD android uniform either.
Liv sat Hank's coffee on his desk and sipped her tea, "Sup?"
"My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by CyberLife."
"Sent for what exactly? I didn't hear anything about you."
"I've been sent by CyberLife to help Lieutenant Anderson with Deviant cases."
"Uh huh. Well I'm his partner."
Thomas, Olivia Raine
DOB: 12/12/13
Age: 24
Height: 5'7
Weight: 147 lbs
Occupation: Detective at Detroit Police Department"Detective Thomas, do you know where Lieutenant Anderson would be at this hour?" Connor asked.
"You can just call me, Liv. Wait, how'd you know my name?" Her name plate on her desk was still gone because it was being updated for her new rank, so she had no idea how he knew who she was.
"I scanned you just a moment ago. It's one of my features, but could you please tell me where Lieutenant Anderson would be right now?"
Liv checked her watch. "Well, it's 8 so he's probably at a bar pretending he's not supposed to be at work right now."
"There are several bars within a 5 mile radius. It may take a while, so I should start with the nearest one now."
"No, just come with me or you'll be wasting you're time. He's at Jimmy's." She headed toward the entrance and smirked, "If he's not there, we'll probably have to file a missing person's case."
"Since Anderson is not yet present, I'll be ready to report him as missing as soon as you give me the order," He said, with his LED flickering a pale yellow.
"No, no, I'm joking," she sighed, "Have we met before? You look very familiar."
"Not to my recollection. However, I am the second of my model, so it is plausible you met my predecessor. It only had time to upload a few memories before it was deactivated."
"Second? Huh. In that case, you can't be who I thought. But that first Connor sounds like a good story for later."
"It fell off a building."
"Or right now, I guess."

Liv saw the "No Androids" sign at Jimmy's and her heart sank a little bit for Connor. This is what he always has to deal with, but she seemed to find that much more heartbreaking than he did. He showed no sign of emotion or care at all, but even though she just met him, she knew there had to be more to him. She longed to prove that he was even a little bit human.
"You don't have to go in--if it will make you uncomfortable," Liv said, "Hank isn't the friendliest to androids. It might be better if I warm him up to the idea before you go in anyway."
"Thank you for the offer, but I don't feel anything, Detective Thomas. I am aware that some are not comfortable around androids, but it will not effect me or my mission."
"Alright, but these people aren't gonna be happy to see you. And again, you can just call me Liv."
"I'd prefer to call you by your professional name," he opened the door, and she sighed.
"Whatever," she said, giving up for now.
She knew Hank wouldn't react well to either of them hassling him, so she took a deep breath before opening the door. They went inside the bar and Connor was stared at a lot by most of the customers. She spotted the gray haired man sitting at the bar, and pointed him out to Connor, but he was already at his side by the time she did so.
"Lieutenant Anderson, my name is Connor. I'm the android sent by CyberLife." Connor said his programmed introduction.
"They sent Connor to help us with some cases," Liv explained.
"Correction: I've only been assigned to work with Lieutenant Anderson."
"I'm not working with a piece of plastic. So why don't you two just go since you both want to so bad?"
"My orders are to accompany you," Connor stated, flatly.
"And you're my partner," Liv said.
"Why'd they send a robot that's just like you? Jesus..." Hank ordered another shot, "I don't care about your case. You obviously don't want to work with me anyway, you make that obvious every goddamn day."
"You do realize I asked to be your partner? When Fowler promoted me, he asked who I wanted to work with, and he laughed when I said 'Lieutenant Anderson'. I always wondered why, but now I know. It's because you're a lazy asshat who doesn't care about anyone else. I wanted to help people when I took this job, and I thought you did too," she whispered, as to not cause a scene, but they could hear the tension in her voice, "I've worked my ass off to try to impress you, and you just don't care. A long time ago, I thought I wanted to be like you, but not anymore."
Liv turned to Connor, after giving out to Hank, "C'mon, let's go."
"I suggest you go with us now to the homicide case, or you should drop the case Lieutenant. Detective Thomas seems to be much more determined, the case may be better suited for h-"
"Fine, I'll go," Hank paid his tab and slowly made his way out of the bar. Liv started to get in the front seat, but Hank shook his head and pointed to the back. Once they got in, he blasted heavy metal music. It was obvious that he didn't want to talk to either of them. The tension was so high between them that Liv had considered walking, but she had never been told where this crime scene was.
"I'm glad you showed up today. It's nice to work with someone who thinks a little like I do," Liv said.
"You're welcome," was all he had to say, and he stayed silent for the rest of the car ride. He just looked straight ahead, sitting perfectly straight. He acted so proper, and Liv was extremely intrigued by him. Almost as intrigued as she was angry at Hank.
