They knew that Liv's apartment was the only place they'd be safe at now. Liv took a nap and woke up a few hours later, feeling a lot better than when they got there. The few hours of sleep definitely wasn't enough, but she knew that she needed to talk to Connor.
While she was remembering everything about Connor, she simultaneously had to watch him start to hate her because of Olivia. She didn't blame him for it, but it was hard to see for her. She hoped Connor wouldn't put any blame on her, and she didn't think he would, but she wasn't sure. And as for Conan, she knew Connor could be stubborn, but she hoped she could convince him to show a little kindness. She took a deep breath as she tried to prepare what she was going to say to him.
After getting dressed and almost ready to walk out the door, she realized how odd and awkward this moment was going to be. Liv missed him a lot, despite only seeing him earlier this morning. But it would different now from then. Before was like watching a TV screen, with Olivia as the main character, but now she was really here. She slipped on her coat and sat down for a moment.
While she was asleep, Conan had bought her a brace and a cane. Now that she felt pain again, it was a relief to have. Even though Liam fixed the part, it still hurt to walk on, but she hoped that would heal it faster. The brace from a hospital probably would've been better, but even the cheap drugstore one was helpful. She wasn't sure where he got the money for it, but she didn't question it, and thanked him anyway. He seemed like he was trying to make up for everything with every little thing he did. The two had only officially met a few hours ago, but he had gone out of his way more than once to help her with something. Liv hoped she didn't make him feel guilty for anything, or that any of it was his fault, but he denied it when she mentioned it. So she just thanked him everytime and hoped it would rest his conscience a little.
She went out the door, saying a short goodbye to Conan as she left. He was cleaning, even though she told him he didn't have to. He seemed really nice; it was hard to believe that the same person had killed people. Although, Liv never thought she'd be able to do such a thing too. Yet here they were.
Connor was almost always in one of three places: the station, Hank's house, or her apartment. Since the latter obviously wasn't it, she decided to check Hank's house first because she knew she couldn't show her face at the police station. Hopefully he was there. Liv put up the hood of her coat, hoping it might mask her face enough if someone happened to recognize her. It was late at night, so it was unlikely, but she didn't want to take the chance.
She took a deep breath before going up the step to Hank's door with her cane in hand. Liv knocked on the door. She didn't get an answer, but heard some rumbling behind the door.
"Connor?" She asked. She knocked again, getting an answer this time nearly immediately. Connor was at the door, with his gun in hand.
"I'll shoo-" he said.
"Don't shoot!" Liv put up both of her hands, her cane falling to the ground.
"Why are you here? If you've come to harm me, or Lieutenant Anderson-"
"Connor, it's me. It's Liv."
"And how am I supposed to know that?" Connor asked, clearly not believing any of it.
"I don't know how to prove it to you, Connor. But why would you think Olivia would come here?" she asked.
"I don't know, why would you come here?"
"Because I wanted to see you, Connor. It's me. It's Liv. I've remembered nearly everything since the last time we spoke. I missed you. Olivia deviated, it's just me now. I know you don't trust her, but I promise you I came here because I wanted to see you. I'm unarmed and I'm not going to hurt anyone, so please put the gun down."
"Cut the bullshit, Olivia."
"I'm Liv! Liv, who you've known for months. Liv, who worked with you for months. Liv, who fought in the revolution with you! Liv, who quit her job for you! I'm the Liv who loves you, Connor!" she said, and he dropped his gun, "I love you, and I remember everything."
She put her hand out and rolled up the sleeve to her coat. He grabbed her wrist and saw her memories.
"It's you," he said, looking shocked, but also really happy.
"Well, yeah. That's what I've been trying to say this entire time," she said and gave him a warm smile as she put down her hands. Connor grabbed her cane and handed it to her. As soon as she grabbed it, Connor hugged her tightly.
She couldn't ever remember Connor ever being the one to start a hug or a kiss, or anything affectionate of the sort. She could only remember her hugging or kissing him, then he would just do the same back, or occasionally him asking permission to kiss her just for her to go ahead and kiss him first. Maybe it was something she just hadn't remembered yet still, but she preferred to think that he missed her as much as she did him. Either way, it felt nice to be this way again, with him with hardly any care about anything else in the world. She kissed him.
"You don't know how much I've missed you," he said, rubbing his eye quickly.
"Are you crying?" Liv asked.
"No!" he said, "Maybe?"
"I missed you too," she said, leaning her head against his shoulder.
