During the night, Connor had turned him self off. At least, that's what he assumed happened, but he couldn't remember much about yesterday. He saw Liv sitting at the end of the bed.

"Well, good evening, Connor," Liv said, watching him slowly sit up in bed.

"Is it really that late?" Connor said, looking over to the clock beside the bed.

"Yep, it's 3. It's understandable though, you were pretty drunk."

"Was I really that bad?"

"You were really annoying. It was probably 5 before I fell asleep, and that's just because you finally shut up," she laughed.

"What did I do?" Connor said, already feeling embarrassed.

"Well, you kept making it really clear that you loved me, you wanted to cuddle with me, you kept whispering 'the mitochodria is the power house of the cell' in my ear all night, and you ran down the hall and hit your head on the wall."

"Is that why my head hurts so bad?" he asked.

"Probably, but you were also pretty wasted," she said, "Wait, since when do you feel pain?"

"I got an upgrade."

"Yeah, you mentioned something about it to me last night. Why didn't you tell me before?"

"I figured that you wouldn't want me to go if you knew that CyberLife was doing it. The upgrade makes me more... human, so I wanted to get it," he half-smiled.

Liv sighed, "Well, you're right, I think it's kind of shady and I wish you would have told me, but I'm glad you did it. You're making you're own choices, and I'm glad you are. I'm not in charge of you, but keep me informed next time you make a decision, please?"

"I will; thanks for understanding," he said, grimacing and put a hand up to his head, "I think it was better when I didn't feel pain."

"Welcome to being human, Connor. Everything fucking sucks," she said, "I would give you something for pain, but I don't think it would actually help."

"It's fine, medication is made for humans, not andriods. It would probably wouldn't have any effect on my pain." he said and started to get up. Liv got up from the bed as well. Connor walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. She turned her head and kissed him.

"So what's it like being more human now?"

"It's been... different. Last night was fun, despite it's effect on me this morning, but it's hard getting used to being so much more sensitive to pain now. I've never had to be careful with myself, but now I have to."

"Hey, um, I know andriods don't usually need to take showers, but you smell like alcohol," Liv pointed out.

"I'll go take a shower then," Connor said as he went into the bathroom and shut the door. Liv heard the water turn on.

"Fuck!" Connor yelled from the bathroom.

"Are you okay?" Liv asked.

"I'm fine, the water is just really hot. I'm just not used to it, I guess," he explained. She sighed in relief.

Wait, did Connor just curse? Liv thought to herself, wondering if she had ever heard him curse before now.

"I can get them right now. They're in their hotel room, it wouldn't be hard," he said into his cell phone.

"Wait for now. We'll get them when they're back in Detroit," the deep voice said back.

"All this waiting wasn't part of our deal! The longer you make me wait, the longer it's going to take for both of us to get what we want. It was wasted last night! Yesterday would have been perfect!"

"Would you shut up? You're too young and impulsive. I can't go to California with my situation, and getting them back to Detroit would be a struggle if you got them now! Everything we need for them is here, so we'll wait until you, Olivia, and Connor are all back in Detroit, okay? You need to think about these things!"

"Fine, then what do you want me to do for now?" the man said, almost as a whine.

"Just keep eyes on them for now. Make sure they don't know what's happening. Sweet things like this will take time to perfect."

"Well it better be worth it," he said, "I was hoping I'd be able to leave before this goddamn wedding."

"You can still skip the wedding for all I care, but I promise that waiting will be worth more than you can ever imagine," the man snarled, "Just keep an eye on those two."

He hung up the phone as he turned his office chair in the dimly lit room. As he got up, he grabbed the picture of Connor and Liv and pinned it to his cork board. He stared at the board for a while, contemplating the seamless plan he had created. In a few weeks, CyberLife would rightfully his.

"I hope you're ready to see me again, Olivia," he whispered to himself.
