*3 days after the wedding*
"I'm telling you, Hank, I know that this note isn't her handwriting. Something has happened to Liv and I can't just sit around," Connor said, pacing around the room.
"Do you know who's handwriting it is?" Hank asked.
"Well, no. I only have a few people's handwriting saved to my memory, and it doesn't match anyone. It's not neat enough to be an andriod either," Connor said, questioning who could have done this. He held the note in his hand, scanning it multiple times to make sure he knew it.
"Was there anyone there who may have wanted to take Liv, or hurt her?" Hank asked.
"No, I don't think so, but how am I supposed to know who wanted to kidnap her."
"Kid, I know it hurts but I think she may have just left. I know it's hard to accept, but we have no evidence to support your theory," Hank said, interrupting Connor.
Connor spoke up in defense, "But the note!"
"Enough about the goddamn note, Connor!" Hank said, "I'm just saying you should consider this."
"She's left everything though. Me, the job she loves, her friends, her brother, her apartment and everything inside. She didn't take anything, but she somehow just left. That's not suspicious to you?" Connor asked.
"Look, if anyone's going to take you seriously you'll need something else to prove your case. I hate to say it, but if someone did take Liv, it could have been Alexander. He's your best chance, but you'll have to prove it," Hank said.
"Are you sure?" Connor said.
"Who else would want to hurt her? Or could pull that off without leaving any evidence?" Hank stated, "Maybe it's time you pay a visit to Liam."
----------
Hank and Connor parked the car in front of the penitentiary where Liam was being kept. The two walked in and went to the front desk. Connor and Hank showed their badges to the woman at the desk.
"Who are you here to see, officers?" She asked.
"We need to speak with Liam Dasher," Connor told her.
"Hmm," she scanned through a list on her computer, "Oh, Mr. Dasher was released a month ago on good behavior, and his attempted murder trial was dropped."
"He was released?" Hank asked, "He kidnapped two people and-"
"Why wasn't I notified about this?" Connor asked.
"I'm sorry, but I really don't know. It may have just been an error in the system," she said.
"Error in the system, pfft," Hank said under his breath, "Come on, Connor, let's go."
The two walked out of the penitentiary, with no information from Liam, and Connor had now added a new suspect to the list of people who make have taken Liv.
"How can they just drop that case? He kidnapped us and he tried to make Liv kill those people! He deserves to rot in one of those cells! Fuck!" Connor said, slamming his fist against Hank's car. It left a small dent, but Hank decided that it wasn't a good time to say something about it.
"Somethings off about this," Hank added, "Liam should never have been released, so how did he?
"What if someone hacked into the system to get him released?" Connor asked, "Alexander may just have the right connections and tech to do that."
"You might be on to something, but we can't rule out Liam acting alone. He's just as smart as Alexander, if not smarter, and he's just as manipulative," Hank stated
"Then I'll just have to find him," Connor said, a furious look in his eyes.
----------
Connor frantically searched through any file he could find on Liam at the DPD. He knew that somewhere, Liam would have to have left a trail. There was no way he could just disappear after being released from prison.
Digging farther than what the DPD had on file, he found a few purchases under Liam's name earlier this week in Iowa. The only thought in Connor's mind was that that's where he needed to go. It was his only lead for this, and he was taking it.
Connor went to the apartment as soon as he knew about Liam, not even bothering to clock out on his shift at the station. On his way there, he called Hank.
"Hey Conn-"
"I know where Liam is, Hank. I was able to trace him down to Davenport, Iowa."
"Iowa? Why would he be there?"
"That may be where he's keeping Liv. I'm going to the apartment to get what I need and I'm leaving tonight," Connor said.
"What do you mean by that?" Hank asked, "Look Connor, I've been thinking and I really don't know if you're in a good enough state to go see him. You're too angry, Connor, and I'm afraid you're going to do something that you'll regret; something that isn't like you. Maybe I should come with you to make sure you don't so anything stupid."
"No, if you're just going to slow me down from what I need to do then you're not coming," Connor said and hung up the phone. He'd have to handle this by himself.
He got to the apartment to see North pacing outside the door. She saw him and ran over to him.
"Connor, I need to talk to you, it's about-"
"North, I have to go. I'm leaving Detroit tonight and I need something from the apartment. I don't have time to talk."
"You're leaving?" North asked, "Don't do that. Look, I know something about Liv."
"If you're here to tell me she left me, then I don't want to hear it," Connor said, walking around her to unlock the door.
"I'm not, just give me a sec-" North was cut off by Connor slamming the door. She tried opening the door, and to her surprise, he hadn't locked it.
Connor had gone to the bedroom to get what he knew he needed. He grabbed his gun case from the top shelf of their closet and a box of bullets. He packed it in the bottom of a small bag and put some clothes over it to try to conceal it. When he turned, he saw North in the doorway, seeing everything he had done.
"What are you doing, Connor?" she asked with a concerned look.
"One of the men who kidnapped us was released from prison, and I know where he is. It's my only shot at finding her."
"Connor, I saw a man walk in and talk to Liv at the wedding. I- I didn't get his name, but Liv seemed suprised to see him, and when I went back in to check on her, they were both gone," North said.
"Show him to me," Connor said, dropping the bag in his hand and extending his arm out to her. She took his wrist with a tight grasp and the synthetic skins around their arms disappeared for a moment.
"Gavin?" Connor said to himself.
