She stopped to take a closer look at the andriod in front of her, "Colton?"
"No, I'm Connor," he smiled, "The android sent by CyberLife, do you remember?"
"Why am I here?" She said, pushing his hand away from her, "What do you want from me?"
"I'm not here to hurt you, but we need to get out of here before someone does," he said, calmly, "I know you don't know me, but you need to trust me."
"Um, alri-" she was cut off when Alexander walked in. Connor saw her stress level spike when she saw him.
"Olivia! I've been worried sick about you," Alexander said, as he walked towards her, "Don't talk to him, he kidnapped you!"
"No, he didn't!" she yelled, "I should've known Detroit wasn't far enough away from you!"
Alexander sighed as he saw the memory erasure percentage, and rolled his eyes, "You two just have to ruin everything for me! Come on, Olivia!"
He grabbed her by her arm and dragged her out of the room, locking the door behind him before Connor had the chance to follow. Alexander and Liv could hear him beating on the door and yelling something unintelligible. Liv squirmed, and tried to run away from him, but was too weak to do anything.
He led her upstairs and into a dining room before he let go of his tight grip on her arm, "I'll be right back."
She fell to the floor as he let go, and he slammed the door shut behind him. Liv could hear him yelling at someone, but she had no idea who it was. She pressed her ear closer to the door.
"Why didn't you consult me about any of this?" Alexander asked, angrily, "Wiping her memory wasn't part of the plan! Fuck, Liam! Can you do anything right?"
"I thought you would rather me do this," he said, "But it doesn't matter. I was able to finish up one of the prototypes. We can try it out on her, and then we won't even need Connor anymore."
"You finished it?" Alexander asked, "Fine, we'll try it, but our agreement is done if this doesn't work."
"I won't let you down again," Liam promised, and opened the door for Alexander. Liv quickly got out of the way.
"Grab her," Liam told Alexander. He did so, holding her within Liam's range. She flung herself around, trying to get out of his grip, but it was useless. He held her still as Liam injected the chip in her neck. It hurt, much more than she had expected.
"The program should be up and running in a few days," Liam said to Alexander. Both men acted as if she wasn't there, then left her there alone, again.
Liv knew she had to get out of here, somehow. The door was still locked from the other side, and it was too heavy, and she was too weak to kick it down. She looked around for something to use, and she saw the flower vase on the dining table. Liv grabbed it, assuming her dad would be back any minute to bring her back to the basement. She stood at the side of the door and waited.
A few minutes later, her dad walked back in, and she smashed the vase over his head. Alexander fell to the floor, and Liv sprinted towards the front door. Before she opened it, she remembered Colton. No, it's Connor, she reminded herself. She ran down to the basement, and unlocked the metal door.
"Thank God you're all right," he said, looking very relieved.
"C'mon, we've got to go," the two ran out the front door, only to see Liam waiting there for him. They froze.
"Go ahead, you're not needed anymore," Liam said, confusing both of them, "Go."
Connor and Liv left, just as he had told them. They ran through several acres of woods to go before they reached the highway, and Connor managed to get his software running just long enough to call the police.
----------
An ambulance drove her and Connor to the hospital in Detroit, as it was the closest one that also treated androids. The ride was long, and almost silent. But once they got to hospital, Liv missed the quiet.
Connor was in a much worse condition than she, so as he was being repaired, the police had asked her questions. Then someone she supposedly knew walked in, and then more police, and then doctors.
"For christ's sake, I don't care about why I don't remember!" she yelled at the doctor, "I need to know what they injected in me while I was there."
"We don't have any evidence to believe that you were-" the doctor was interrupted by a detective who walked in the room.
"Can I take over for a minute?" He said, showing his badge.
"Be my guest," the doctor said as he left the room.
She couldn't remember who he was, just like everyone else, but he was the first who didn't immediately ask if he remembered her.
"I'm sorry, Thomas," he apologized, "I know you don't remember but I should have protected you. That's what I was there to do, and I couldn't even manage to do that.
"And you'd probably still remember everyone if I had," he sighed and reintroduced himself, "I'm Gavin, by the way."
"Hey," she said, not knowing what else to say.
"I'm sure it's awkward not knowing the people who remember you, but just trust me when I say it's best that you don't remember me," Gavin said, "I know you're probably sick of people asking, but do you even remember Connor?"
She shook her head. He said, "He just got done with his repairs. I'd say he's going to be down here soon."
Gavin left not long after, and he was right, Connor did visit not long after. He sat at the end of Liv's hospital bed.
"Everyone's been asking me questions, so do you mind if I ask you something?" Liv asked.
"Sure, what do you want to know?"
"First of all, how do I know you? And second, can you tell me what year it is?"
"Well, I'm your boyfriend, and it's 2039," he said, and saw her look of suprise, "What year did you think it was?"
"2033," she said as her hand grazed against his, and she saw the synthetic skin fade away on both of there hands. Her eyes wide with shock, she asked, "Can you tell me what the fuck that was?"
