"I'm surprised you want your job back, Thomas. You seemed so certain that you were done when you quit, but it's good to have you back," Fowler said and shook Olivia's hand, "Just use the same desk as before, but I'll have you partnered with Connor for now, as long as your relationship doesn't effect the job."
Olivia had worried that they wouldn't want her back until she fully recovered her memory, but she was able to pass every test with flying colors. In fact, the chip had seemingly made her better at the job. And with the department being so understaffed, they needed all the help they could get.
"Connor? I thought he was fired," Olivia asked.
"He was, but what you said the other day made me reconsider. Everyone's overloaded anyway, we could use more officers," Fowler explained.
"Well, I'll get to work," Olivia said as she got up. She pushed open the glass door and walked over to her desk. Her new key card was lying on her desk. Connor was also there, waiting on her.
"You didn't tell me that you got your job back," Olivia said with a fake smile.
"I wanted to surprise you," he said.
"Well, you definitely did that," Olivia said, "Fowler said I need to pick up my service gun, I should probably go get it, but I can't remember where they keep all of that."
"It's the room next to evidence, down that hall," Connor pointed to their left.
"Thanks," she said. She went down the hall with her key card in hand. When she got to the door, she swiped it, but was denied access inside. Olivia assumed she wasn't in the security system yet. She needed someone else to let her in. Someone who was easy for her to manipulate.
Connor was her first thought, but he wouldn't work. If she wasn't in the system yet, he probably wasn't either. Besides, he already seemed suspicious and would ask too many questions. She needed someone who would be too scared of her to even question what she was doing.
She turned her head to see the perfect person, Gavin. He was sitting at his desk, with his feet kicked up on top of the desk. He wasn't paying attention and was on his phone.
"Hey, Reed," Olivia said, sitting on the edge of his desk.
"Hey, princess," he said, taking his feet off the desk and putting his phone, "I didn't think I'd live to see the day you came back here."
"Gavin, can you come over here for a second? I have something to show you," she said and winked. Gavin got up from his chair and followed her into an old break room that no one used anymore. She grabbed on to his jacket and pressed his chest against hers. Her lips met his in a heated kiss. Gavin pulled away.
"Look, I'm not into being a side piece. I won't do that to Connor."
"He's not my boyfriend," she said, "I don't even remember him."
"In that case..." Gavin said and then kissed her again. He slid his jacket off of his shoulders and pressed her against the wall. His breath smelled like whiskey and cigarettes. His hands went underneath her shirt, slowly pulling it up. Then they heard the door open. Both of their heads snapped towards the door to see who was there.
Connor's eyes widened at what he saw. Gavin and Olivia making out. She didn't even look like she felt guilty, or anything, when she saw him. Connor was hurt. It felt like his heart had been torn out of his chest. The pained expression on his face would've been enough to make Liv cry, but not Olivia.
"Don't you have somewhere else to be, Connor?" Olivia said, coldly.
"I don't even know you anymore," Connor said, "I thought you would at least try to remember me.
"Whatever, I'm done," he said and slammed the door behind him.
"Where were we?" She said to Gavin.
"No way. You told me you and Connor were over."
"We're aren't together, he's just clueless. Hey, I need something from you," Olivia said.
"Well, you can ask someone else," Gavin said, "He's right, you're not the same anymore."
"I'm 'not the same'? In the ten minutes I've been back?" Olivia rolled her eyes, "You don't know anything about me, Gavin."
He started to walk out the door, but she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, then flipped the two of them around. He was against the wall, being held up by one arm.
"Give me your key card and password." Olivia asked, reaching in her pocket for something.
"What do you need it for?" Gavin asked, looking down at her.
"That's none of your business. Give me the card and your password."
"What if I don't?" Gavin asked.
She dropped him, then pushed her forearm against shoulders and collar bone, pinning him to the wall with a force so strong that he was unable to move. She grabbed a knife that she had in her pocket. It was a sharp, fairly large knife, but folded down like a pocket knife. She opened the blade and pressed it against his throat.
"How about you give me what I want before I slit your throat, Detective Reed."
"You wouldn't."
"Do you really want to take that chance, Reed?" She asked as she ran the blade along his jaw, it bled and was sure to leave a scar. She returned the knife to right at his throat. Just a little more force and he would be dead.
"Fine! Fine! I'll give it to you, just let me down. You're fucking crazy," Gavin said as he reached into his pocket for his key card.
"You have no idea."
He handed her the key and told her the password. Olivia put a finger up to her lips.
"Not a word, to anyone. I am not afraid to kill you, Gavin. That's going to scar, use that as a reminder to stay the fuck out of my way."
