"Jack hates bugs. They always somehow end up in his eye sockets."

"I want to invest in a tarantula." EJ announced one morning at breakfast. You paused, spoon partway to your mouth.

"I beg your pardon?" EJ pulled a kidney from the fridge.

"A tarantula," he said, sitting down next to BEN and Jeff. "I think we should invest in one." You sighed.

"I'm going to regret asking, but why?"

"Because-"

The cannibal froze suddenly, eyes locked on a spot above your head. Eyebrows knit in confusion, you looked up, only to see a fly buzzing above your head.

Rage washed over you. A dirty fly, in your kitchen? Bitch, fuck no.

Quick as lightning, you reached over for your weapon of choice- the electric fly swatter. You brought it up in a deadly arc above your head, cackling with electricity, and the fly...

B-lined straight into Jack's eye socket.

The cannibal immediately screamed, in disgust or pain you didn't know, and fell backwards out of his chair onto where he then proceeded to claw at his eye sockets with everything he was worth.

"GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!" He shrieked, drawing bloody lines as he dragged his nails across his face.

The three of you (Jeff, BEN, and you) stared at the scene in front of you in shock, each unsure if what you were seeing was real, or if someone had spiked the coffee creamer.

After a solid minute of clawing at empty eye sockets like he was trying to remove nonexistent eyes, Jack gave up and simply laid back on the floor and stared up at the ceiling vacantly.

"Please," he asked softly when nobody spoke. "Please can I have a tarantula. I want to name him Herb. He will be my friend." You nodded soundlessly.

"O-Ok," you stammered. "We-We can get you a tarantula."

Five minutes passed before EJ stood up to go perform a medical analysis on his own eye sockets, and you, BEN, and Jeff silently agreed to never bring up this incident ever again.
