I was seated on my living room couch that night, dressed in one of Barry's crewnecks that I had stole, and my own black joggers, my hands wrapped around a mug that was filled with hot chocolate, the one I made for Barry sitting on the coffee table.I heard the door lock click, signaling he had unlocked the door with the spare key I had given him, and my eyes hand on the door as he opens it, walking in slowly, closing and locking the doors, dropping the keys in the bowl on the small table by the door.
He walks into the living room and spots me, "You stole my crewneck?"
"I made you hot cocoa- so I thought you'd let it slip." I shrug lightly, trying to lighten the mood, getting up, putting down my own cup and grabbing his, heating it up; before handing it to him.
My eyes glanced at the time, as it was almost midnight.
He quieted thanked me before sitting down on the couch next to where I was sitting, as I saw down also, grabbing the blanket on the side and spreading it neatly across out laps so that we were sharing, and grab my mug, sipping my hot cocoa.
"Are you okay?" I ask quietly, as he clears his throat lightly, "My throat hurts from screaming at nothing for a half an hour." He replies to me.
"Oh." I simply say, my hands right around the mug I still had in my hands, as he slowly sips his.
I stay quiet for a while, thinking it's best not to talk, he breaks the silence, looking at me, a small weak smile plastered on his lips, "Go on."
"Hm?" I hum, my eyes snapping right up to him, my eyes slightly wide due to seeing him smile after finding out something like this.
"Oh, come on." He says, "I know you've been holding it in since we found out what you knew was true." Barry lightly teases me, as a small smile grows on my face as I set down my mug, clapping my hands together.
"Okay-" I say, a small laugh sounding from my mouth, as he was letting me boast about being correct, "I knew it- I knew it- I knew it."
He presses his lips together, as I could tell he was holding back a laugh, the smile he had on previously remaining on his lips.
"No one believed me-" I say, "No- one. I knew it from the second he stepped foot and looked exactly like Hunter- that he was going to screw us all over." I speak.
My excitement got the best of me, as I continued to speak, his gaze on me, his smile slowly growing, "I mean- come on. Reign being Zoom's younger sister? I being Hunter's younger sister? Zoom legitimately telling me he couldn't kill me? That man in that cell spelling out Jay? Jay literally looking exactly like Hunter? He had to be lying about something-" I say, clapping my hands together again, smiling giddily from how I had just put that together, "I could really be a detective."
"Detective Young. I kinda like that." Barry laughs quietly.
"And since this is a serious topic- I'm going to stop babbling- in three- two- one." I quiet down, calming myself down.
"You're too adorable." He simply says to me, the smile still plastered on his face.
I smile lightly before he sets his mug down, "I kinda like Reporter Young more, though. She speaks very highly of the Flash in her articles- you can be Detective Young when we're working on a meta problem."
I go quiet, knowing what was coming.
As if right on cue, he speaks, "You do realize- I never want you to go out on the field again- right?"
"This was only my second time-" I lightly shrug, "And- even though I could've almost died- I did good."
"Zee- you could've actually gotten killed. The bridge- literally- collapsed on you." Barry recalls what had happened, "You almost drowned."
