The two went from friends to acquaintances. It has been quite some time since they've talked like real friends. Jellal used to always start a conversation, but she would always get shy around him. Her sister wasn't, though. Erza envied her sister. She wondered how Ultear could always be outgoing and friendly to people.

In her point of view, Erza always thought that Jellal would only talk to her if Ultear was there. She wondered why. She wondered if he prefered her sister over her. She wondered if her sister was better than her. She wondered if he hated her and only talked to her because her sister was there and didn't want to seem rude. She wondered so many things, so many questions, yet they can't be answered unless they were asked. She always felt upset around him. Why doesn't he want to talk to her, Erza wondered.

Currently, the two were in detention and had to sit next to each other. She felt anxious. She wanted to start a conversation, but never seemed to know how. She was hoping he would.

Few minutes of silence later, Erza decided to just bury her head in between her arms on the table and fall into slumber, but as soon as she was about to, there was a blackout. Instantly her guard was up.

Erza wanted to get up from her spot and grab something. She could hear some shuffling beside her. She thought maybe he wanted to get up and turn the lights back on outside. As Jellal got up, their hands slightly made contact. She blushed. A part of her had the urge to grab his hand and just hold him close, but she was clueless as to why.

A few moments later, the lights were back on. The teacher probably did it and he sat back down. She turned to him and they had a short staring contest before he smiled at her. She smiled back, naturally. "Um, what brought you here?" she started.

"I just ran around the hall with a couple of friends." Erza was hoping for him to ask her back, but the question never came and came the awkwardness. She wondered if Jellal didn't want to start a conversation in the first place. She didn't try any further and just continued to wander into her mind as usual.

A few moments later, he asked her back, "so what about you?" She answered him immediately. She felt thrilled that he wanted to continue on. Her mind saw him as a friend, but she was well aware that she had fallen head over heels for him a long time ago. She denies it, though. She hoped to talk to him more after this.
