The dark circles under Y/N's eyes were prominent and no matter how much makeup she put on, there was no way of hiding them. The slight bruises on her cheeks weren't as dark as she'd expected, so the foundation had been light.

By the time she'd been up, Chisaki had cleaned any traces of the ordeal the night before. Yet, it kept playing in the back of Y/N's mind as she threw on a long sleeved, black shirt and long jeans, so the bruise on her calf and right arm wouldn't be exposed.

She'd made sure to let her hair down so she could hide her face whenever she deemed necessary or she wanted to hide from watchful eyes. Not like it mattered—she wanted to stay away from everyone today.

She had made sure to be the last one to enter her calculus class so she wouldn't run the chance of sitting beside Shouto. If she looked at him, she knew he'd feel more unreachable than ever to her. She sat in one of the back seats and slouched forward as Mr. Aizawa announced he would pass out the tests. Ah, Y/N thought. I totally forgot. I didn't study at all.

She tried to circle the most reasonable answers, but her mind had gone blank. The numbers seemed to shift around the paper. Every time she tried reading a question, it was like she was reading a tongue twister over and over and she couldn't comprehend what it said.

Not even twenty minutes in, Y/N packed her pencil, hitched her backpack and walked to the front of the class to turn in her half answered exam. She could feel everyone's gaze as she walked up to Mr. Aizawa. The black haired man raised an eyebrow at her.

"Done already?" He raised an eyebrow.

Y/N simply nodded and handed him her test. She didn't wait for another comment. She made her way out the doors. She felt like her heart was pounding out of her chest, her clothes were hot and heavy and the make up she was wearing felt like it was burning her skin.

Taking the stairs two at a time, she didn't care if people saw her as lunatic, she ran towards the roof. She needed fresh air. She couldn't breathe. She. Couldn't. Breathe. Shecoudlntbreathe!

Swinging the doors open, she took deep breaths as she fell to her knees. The door swung shut behind her, but she didn't care. She breathed in the air of the cold autumn morning. It burned her throat and made her eyes water and it was so fucking refreshing. It was exactly what she needed.

She neared the edge of the ledge of the roof and stared out. Everything looked so minuscule under the grey skies, and for a moment she let herself imagine that she wasn't part of this world and she was simply a viewer that watched others go on with their life—with no care in the world.

That's how she spent most of her morning. She skipped the rest of her classes and simply sat against the cool wall raised on the roof against her back as she doodled and wrote away in her journal. She cleared her mind of Chisaki, of the bruises on her wrists that were hidden away by the familiar Marvel's bracelets, the sting on her cheeks and the pain in her back and head.

It was around noon when she started regretting not packing a lunch. Her stomach was growling and she had left her wallet at home. She sighed when she realized she was scheduled to work that evening. She wondered if she could call in—she'd probably get fired.

"I knew you'd be here."

Y/N gasped in surprise when she heard a familiar voice from her left. Her eyes widened when she saw those familiar mismatched colored orbs staring at her with a new undecipherable intensity. Shouto had his arms crossed over his chest.
