"Are you sure she died?"
"Yes. She has no heart rate."
"How are we going to tell the Boss about it?"
"We don't. We need to dispose of her body and start a new one."
"We only have three months! She took five years to create!"
"We need to figure something out or we will be killed."
Who did the voices belong to? They came from the darkness of her mind, but she couldn't ever pinpoint a face or body. They always haunted her.
And just like always, as she reached with her hands for them—they disintegrated at her touch.
"She'll wake up once the anesthesia has worn off," it was a voice she'd never heard before.
"She better be. She has a lot of explaining to do." That voice she did know. She heard it everyday of her life for the past two years. It had become a voice that haunted her every waking moment. It was Chisaki, but before she could continue listening to anything else, she was sucked back into unconsciousness.
The same thing happened three more times before she was able to regain full consciousness. She'd been expecting Chisaki to be waiting for her when she opened her eyes, but felt even more terror when she was met with emptiness. She was alone.
She glanced at her white hospital sheets. Her arm had an IV coming from it and her stomach area hurt like she'd been...well, stabbed. She tried sitting up with difficulty. As she was managing, the door to her room open and she was met with a blonde nurse.
She glanced at Y/N. "He said you are free to go once you've woken up. That he'll contact you later."
Recognition flickered across Y/N's eyes. "You're the one from the elevator..." She scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. "Where am I?"
"Where else?" The blonde sounded annoyed. "We aren't just a hospital by name." She looked at her chart and wrote something down. "Your clothes are in the bag by your bedside. Be sure to leave in the next hour. I added painkillers in your bag, so they should help with the pain." She smirked as she sat down the chart. "Although it looks like you've angered him—I don't know how long you'll live." With that lovely comment, she left the room, closing the door behind her and leaving Y/N alone with her roaring thoughts.
She looked under her gown and she was met with gauze in a spot on her stomach. She sighed as she ran her hands down her face. She wasn't sure whether to be happy or disappointed that Dabi had been successful in not killing her.
She groaned when she realized Chisaki had left without speaking to her once more. Even if he'd been intended to kill her, she at least wanted to know where he was keeping Rei.
"I can't sit around anymore," she mumbled as she reached for the bag the nurse had told her about. "I need to get going."
...
She had to admit, when she took the first few steps out of the hospital she thought she was going to die over how much her side hurt, but after popping a few painkillers she felt better.
She'd lost both of her phones in the span of three days, so she stopped by a local mobile store to buy a new one. Thankfully, she'd saved up the money from her recent pays from All Might's. She ended up registering it with the same phone number. Once she activated and turned it on, her phone was flooded with messages.
