"I thought I told you to be here as soon as you were out of class," were Chisakis' words of greeting when Y/N walked into the hospital.

Y/N always found Chisaki to be a snake—but he was more of a chameleon if she could compare him to anything. He adapted to his surroundings and blended in perfectly well. At home, he was a slob, and had no care for hygiene, but outside of their apartment—he was an entirely different person. He looked everything like a businessman. The blue suit, tie and the slicked back hair—even the disdainful look in his face whenever he spoke with anyone who wasn't to his caliber, fit perfectly.

"There was traffic," was the only suitable answer Y/N could come up with.

Chisaki narrowed his eyes at her, and since he was tall, he towered over Y/N. She held herself back from squirming under his gaze.

"Come with me," he ordered coldly.

Y/N followed after him. She tried to keep her eyes on him, but they kept wandering around. The hospital was quiet, which was odd, since it was a psychiatric hospital. She expected more of a commotion and movement, but there was no one in the halls. Well, there were a few nurses, but their footsteps were so soft you could barely hear them and whenever they walked by Chisaki, they kept their gazes down.

When they hopped on an elevator and Chisaki hit the tenth floor, the top floor, Y/N's heart started beating erratically. Everything about the situation made her uncomfortable and put her on the edge. She was waiting for him to tell her he had requested a room for her, so he could lock her away forever. Her eyes flicked towards his direction, but his face was illegible. She couldn't tell what he was thinking.

When they walked out to the tenth floor, she was immediately overtaken by how silent it was. That, and there weren't any nurses in the hall.

"I brought you here for a reason," Chisaki's deep voice echoed as they walked down the corridor. "I need you to come here every Monday and Wednesday and take care of something."

Y/N knew better than to speak or ask why. The scar on her right leg was a reminder of that. She simply had to obey him and not ask questions.

She'd have to talk with Mr. Toshinori about changing her availability. There was no way around it. If she even spoke out of term, Chisaki would suspect her and it would be the end of her small freedom and probably her life.

Chisaki still believed she was attending college on a full ride scholarship, and she couldn't let him know she had a part time job or he would...she'd couldn't even finish that thought.

"There's going to be a list taped to this door," Chisaki continued as he stopped in front of a door numbered 37. There was no name or other affiliation—just the number on the door. "You will take it down to the receptionist at the front, she will give you a card, and you will buy all the items and do anything else that's listed on the paper, got it? After that, you bring the items back up here and leave them by the door."

He reached into his pocket and took out an orange envelope. He handed it to her. "There's all the information you need to memorize. There's also money you're going to use for some personal matters, and before you ask, no, it's not from me. It's from a client." Chisaki took out his phone from his pocket, and read something before he continued. "You're assigned to do this, but you have to be discreet so no one knows where this place is or where it is." He gave her a hard look. "You will not mess this up."

Y/N nodded so fast she reminded herself of a bobblehead. She clutched the envelope in her hands, and tried to squeeze every bit of courage she could into her next question.

"This seems very serious. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, and I bet I'll find that inside the envelope, but," she looked at him in the eyes. "Why me?"

Chisaki smiled at her and it wasn't a pleasing one, it was more like an evil grimace. "Because," he said. "I own you, and you've always been such an obedient pet." He scowled at her. "Don't ask anymore stupid questions. You know what will happen if you screw this up."

Y/N kept quiet the whole way down the elevator and out the hospital door. Chisaki had told her to go back to their apartment and read over the packet he'd given her.

Y/N was very confused, but mostly afraid. What the hell did Chisaki do to be in a psychiatric ward? Especially for him to get her involved. As far as Y/N knew, Chisaki didn't want her anywhere near his business affairs.

Still, for him to drag her in meant it was something very crucial and he had no one he trusted, so he went with someone he could completely control and knew wouldn't say anything. It's not like Y/N even knew what was going on exactly.

She sighed as she rode on the bus back to her apartment. She hoped Chisaki wasn't pulling her into something illegal. Her life was already hard enough as it was—being part of something illegal would only make it much worse. It wasn't like Chisaki genuinely cared about her anyway—he would sell her out to save himself if it came down to it.

The only thing that made her feel better as she unlocked her house door, was that Chisaki had told her before she left that he'd be home late. Which meant she had time to herself and she didn't have to worry about him lurking in the shadows.

Sitting on the edge of her bed, Y/N dropped her backpack on the ground and focused her attention on the orange envelope in her hands. She opened it.

There was a packet of papers stapled together. They looked like a contract. She read over the first few pages, and felt her skin shiver. It was a contract, and by the sights of it, she was going to be selling her soul to the devil when she signed it.

The contractee will obey all the rules listed below. They will wear a nurse uniform whenever they're on duty. They must not become familiar with the subject they'll be in charge of. They must carry out their tasks to perfection, or punishments will be implied. A few documents and currency has been added into the envelope.

The contractee will make sure the subject is completely disguised whenever they leave the hospital's quarters, follow the scheduled hours and protect them from any social interactions.

Y/N kept reading, but she could pretty much sum up what Chisaki wanted her to do. She was going to be more or less a babysitter for someone and if she screwed up he was going to make her pay for it. Still, reaching deeper into the envelope, she almost screamed when she pulled out a big wad of bills that were held together by an elastic band. Along with the cash, she pulled out an ID card. Her name and picture stared back at her. It was an official Japanese identification card.

Y/N couldn't remember how many times she'd begged Chisaki to allow her to get one, but he always refused. The picture he'd used was the one they'd attached to her adoption papers, but she didn't mind. She was so awed, that for a second she forgot that she was holding a death contract and probably a few thousand dollars.

Y/N clenched the ID in her hands. She knew she wouldn't be able to use it outside of her assignments at the hospital or she'd be in big trouble—but the thought of simply carrying it around overjoyed her.

"I wonder who Chisaki wants me to take care of," Y/N mumbled as she fiddled with the cash. She sighed as she realized she'd have to go buy a nurse outfit, and a few other things to throw herself into disguise for Wednesday.

Y/N knew simply going along with Chisaki's orders was insane since she had no idea what she was getting into, but at the same time, she had no other option. After all, she belonged to Chisaki.
