"I've been holding on to it for a while now. I was trying to muster up the courage to give it to you," Shouto had taken her back to his apartment, and after they'd spent a few hours with their friends, he'd asked her to stay behind. He handed her a rose colored, velvet box. Her eyes widened slightly as he sat her down on the couch.

She opened the box and she gasped. "Shouto, this...this must've been very expensive. I can't receive this." On the black cushion sat a golden ring with small Sakura flowers decorating the edges.  "Shouto..."

"Don't worry," he scratched the back of his head nervously. "It's not an engagement ring and please don't worry about the money. When it comes to you...nothing is worth too much," she paused and looked up at him. His cheeks were rosy and he couldn't meet her eyes. "Please accept it. It's a promise."

"A promise...?"

He grabbed the box from her hand and took the ring, softly slipping it onto her left pinky finger. "We'll always stay, no matter what."

He curled their hands together. She felt it again, that soft and warm feeling in her heart—peaceful, tranquil, and soothing. The softness to her harshness. She kissed him at the edge of his mouth, her lips lingering. "I'll never, ever leave you. I'll never leave, even if you ask me to. I'll wear this ring forever."

He cupped her cheeks and met her eyes. "Why would I ever want you to leave me, when you've always been the one by my side?"

She leaned in to capture his mouth once more, but then Blossom jumped on to her lap and forced them apart.

"He just got here and he's already jealous," she jested as she rubbed his belly and heard him purr.

Shouto laughed softly as he joined her in rubbing Blossom's belly. "I'll let you know, Blossom, I don't share."

She kept turning the band nervously on her pinky finger as she waited for Shouto and the others to show up at One for All's. They were scheduled to meet for New Years; they'd only seen each other a few times since Christmas, but she still felt anxious whenever she had to see her friends. Sure, they'd believed Shouto's story about his father and Kaminari had been fine after the attack, but she still felt so guilty. They were keeping so much from them.

"Y/N!" Uraraka's cheerful voice caught her attention. Midoryia was right next to her, Kaminari as well—his first time being off from work, and she was surprised when she saw Bakugo walk in beside Shouto.

She hadn't seen him since school let out—albeit it wasn't like he'd changed that much. His spiky blond hair was covered by a black cap, and he was wearing a dark red jacket—the usual scowl on his lips.

"Ochaco," Y/N smiled at her. "I've missed you."

Her friend sat down in front of her while Midoryia and Bakugo slid beside her. Shouto sat down to the left of Y/N, his hand immediately curling into hers under the table. She tried to hide the small blush that settled on her cheeks.

Uraraka was giving her a wide eyed look. "So, now that we've all finally gathered around today, I want to know what all of you guys holidays were like."

"I went back home to visit my mom," Midoryia started. "And I was able to meet up with a few old aquantacies.

"I spent it working," Kaminari deadpanned sadly. "I couldn't even go on a date."
