"We need to go!" Dabi was hissing at her, but Y/N was frozen in place. Her ears were ringing with the words of Shizune. Todoroki industries...it couldn't be...it had to be a coincidence. But Y/N, in her entire life, had never encountered a coincidence. What made this time different?

"We have to go. They're coming out. Y/N. Sweetheart, we have to move," Dabi was shaking her shoulders, but she felt like her body had turned sluggish and she was no longer in control of it.

"Fuck this," Dabi cursed her and in one swoop he'd thrown her over his shoulder as he ran towards the area where he'd parked his car. "If they see us, it'll be your fault."

It didn't take Dabi long to throw her into the passenger seat and snap her seatbelt on before he was pulling out of the building. He kept a watchful lookout in case anyone was following them.

"I don't think anyone spotted us," he told her as he pulled into the highway. "That was too close. What the hell were you doing just standing there?"

Y/N shook her head, ignoring his jab. "It has to be a coincidence—similar names, that's all."

Dabi threw her a worried glance. "Hey, are you listening to me?"

She didn't even notice that her hands were red from clutching the door handle so hard. She turned to the black haired man. "Are you doing this on purpose? Do you hate Shouto so much that you set all of this up?"

His eyebrows raised in surprise at her accusation. "You're trying to say I set this whole thing up to frame your boyfriend?"

"Did you?" Her voice was thick. "It doesn't take a genius to see how much you hate him. You've been telling me since we met not to trust him—what do you have against him? What did he do to you? Did I do something to you?"

He gave her a dry, humorless laugh. "If you think I would go through all that trouble to set up your boyfriend, you have another thing coming." His grip on the steering wheel tightened. "I really didn't expect for the Todoroki's to be that involved in this."

She glared at him, anger flaring inside of her. "You make no sense. You told me this would benefit me—it clearly had to do with Shouto and his family. You can't simply back out on what you said."

"I know what I said!" he snapped, making her jump. He gritted his teeth. "I simply didn't think they would be involved in the wrong side of the business—or at the very least I thought they were acting against their will."

"It really has to do with Shouto?"

Dabi didn't turn to her. "I'm not sure."

"How are you not sure?" Y/N exclaimed in almost a sob. "This is human trafficking we are talking about—this is serious, Dabi. We can't simply accuse someone of this without evidence."

"You heard what they said," he countered. "Todoroki Industries is a part of all their shady business—I'm not completely sure if it's against their will or not, but you and I both know your boyfriend is loaded, and it's all thanks to his father's business. The question is whether he is also involved or not."

"Shouto would never—"

"—are you sure about that?" Dabi's words cut straight through her. "Tell me, has he been completely honest with you? Has he really told you everything? Has he told you why we despise each other?" He gave her a wary look. "Have you been honest with him?"
