It took Y/N over two hours on foot to make it to the main road after she'd left the warehouse. Her legs were sore, and her whole body ached. She sighed in relief when she finally spotted moving vehicles that weren't big green tractors. She started waving her hand in hopes of stopping a taxi.

Before she left, she made sure to let Natsuo know she would be back, and made it very clear to the guards that they needed to feed them during the week while she was gone. No surprise that the guards were wearing masks to keep her from seeing their real faces, but it didn't take her long to pinpoint which one was whom. Shin was the more level headed of the two, and spoke to her like she was a person, of some sort, and not an object.

She'd made sure to give the keys back to him, and instructed him on the meals she'd left in the fridge for Natsuo and Fuyumi.

Y/N also reminded him that they needed to change their bandages everyday and to allow them to use the restroom, which thankfully, she'd found one in the back ends of the warehouse.

Y/N felt like her head was going to explode as she hopped into a taxi and gave the driver the only address she knew.

Chisaki had been very clear to her that she couldn't go back home for the night, but even if she had been able to, she wouldn't have. Thinking of him, being anywhere close to him made her livid and sick to her stomach. He was a sick man.

She needed time to process everything and figure out a plan to free Natsuo and Fuyumi. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, especially since she would be the only suspect under Chisaki's eyes if they managed to escape out of nowhere.

Y/N had to be careful about how she executed an escape plan. She narrowed her eyes as she tapped on her leg, glancing out the window: Chisaki had been very sloppy about kidnapping the siblings. Y/N had a feeling that he was doing something he wasn't supposed to. For him to resort to only two guards, and using her again was not like him at all.

He'd made it very clear before that he didn't want her involved in any of his business other than the one with Rei. Y/N wasn't sure what he was up to, but she didn't like it.

Handing the taxi man a couple of bills, Y/N waved him off as she stepped into the sidewalk outside a very familiar apartment complex.

It was late afternoon now, and she was sure he would be home, so she reached inside her pocket, took out her phone, powered it on and called the most recent number on her history list.

"Hello?" Shouto's voice gruff when he answered. Had he been sleeping? Y/N felt sudden guilt set in her chest.

"Shouto? It's me, Y/N." she mumbled into the line, looking down at the ground. "I'm sorry, did I wake you?"

She heard shuffling at the other end, "No. I'm awake. Is everything okay? Where are you?"

Y/N brushed loose hair strands behind her ear. "I'm outside of your apartment complex."

...

When Shouto opened the door to his apartment, it was obvious he'd been sleeping. His sweater and sweatpants were wrinkled, his hair was sticking out in odd angles and he wasn't wearing any shoes. Yet, his bright eyes were alert as he took her in.

Y/N almost cringed when she remembered how she looked. Her sweater and jeans were wrinkled and dirty. Her hair had come mostly undone from its ponytail, and her lip was swollen from its previous blow.
