Follow Your Heart

Cyrus is having a rough time with his boyfriend, which prompts him to talk to Andi and Buffy about his feelings.

Cyrus was always there for his friends. He loved listening to them, offering them advice, and that always helped his confidence.

He was going out with TJ, and life had been going well up until very recently. Being in a relationship was a big deal for Cyrus, it was the first time he was with someone, but he had been having doubts.

Therein lied the problem, he was thinking about his relationship too much. Despite his best efforts, he didn't feel happy. He felt as if being with TJ was more about not being alone, rather than going out.

Andi and Buffy were noticing that Cyrus was sad, so when they saw him walking through the park, they ran over and pulled him to the side, out of the way of others.

Andi: Something is bothering you, I can tell.

Cyrus: I don't know what you're talking about.

Buffy: Yes, you do. I haven't seen you smile in ages. Is everything okay with TJ?

Cyrus: Well... y-yes it's absolutely fine.

They didn't need to doubt anymore, as Cyrus always stuttered when he lied. Andi gave him a hug and hoped that would encourage him to be truthful.

Andi: You don't need to worry, if something is on your mind, you can tell me.

Cyrus: It's just... I feel like I'm with TJ, but it's not serious.

Buffy: Why? Is he ignoring you?

Cyrus: No, I just feel like I agreed to go out with him, because I was scared of loneliness.

Andi: So, do you love him?

Cyrus: I don't think I do, don't get me wrong, he's amazing, but I don't feel that strongly about him.

Andi: It's okay Cyrus, all you need to do is talk.

Cyrus: You mean, break up with him?

Buffy: It depends how you feel, but you should be truthful. You at least owe him that.

Cyrus: You're right, but I'll be alone again.

Andi: You don't know that for sure. I think someone will be there for you.

Buffy: And you know who we mean.

Cyrus: That's impossible, they would never like me in that way.

Andi: You never know, unless you try.

He agreed with them, honesty was always the right way to go. On the other hand, he didn't want to get his hopes up. He gave them a hug and went in search of TJ. Cyrus was nervous, but knew it was completely necessary.

As he exited the park, Cyrus spotted Jonah. He sighed lightly, thinking about what the girls had said. Why did Jonah have to be straight? Cyrus looked a little deflated, but Jonah was smiling when he saw Cyrus.

Jonah: Hey Cy!

Cyrus: Hey Jo.

Jonah: Are you okay?

Cyrus: I...

Cyrus was trying to decide whether he should tell Jonah about his situation. It couldn't hurt, but he didn't know if Jonah would be interested. He was not given time to think, as Jonah broke the silence.

Jonah: Dude, if something is on your mind, you can talk to me.

Cyrus: You mean that?

Jonah: Of course I do, we're friends aren't we?
