Jonah is a school bully, and leads a gang who pick on the other kids. However, he isn't all that he seems.

Jonah Beck was scary to most of the kids at school. He didn't care much for the rules, all that mattered was that he got his way. Although he had taken great pleasure in torturing most of them along with his gang, there was one boy who he couldn't bring himself to harm.

Cyrus Goodman, aka the only openly gay kid at school. Jonah couldn't work out what it was about Cyrus that intrigued him, but it was one of those situations where he couldn't get the boy off of his mind. In any event, Jonah was trying not to show Cyrus how he felt.

Jonah met with his fellow gang members, Austin and Marc. They were discussing their next attack.

Jonah: So, I think we should give wedgies to some of the losers in this school.

Austin: Awesome, anyone in particular?

Jonah: Nah, just whoever is the first person we see.

Marc: Cool, as long as I can punch someone too.

Jonah: Be my guest.

The plan was set, but it was going to be random, so they were going to go with the flow. Jonah was still feeling confused about Cyrus, but again put it to the back of his mind.

Cyrus meanwhile was very much alone. Not many people had accepted him since he came out, and most of them had been horrible, calling him names and shoving him against lockers. He was covered in bruises, but kept them well hidden.

He was putting something away in his locker, when he noticed Austin and Marc were intimidating some of the other students.

Austin: Stay out of our way, or face the consequences!

Marc: Who wants a wedgie?

Cyrus tried to keep a low profile, and in the corner of his eye he saw Austin wedgie two of the younger boys. It was painful to watch, so he closed his eyes firmly.

Jonah: Haha, good work guys!

Then things became a blur. Austin and Marc approached Cyrus, and decided he was going to be next.

Austin: Oh look it's the gay kid.

Marc: Let's get him, I'm gonna punch him in the face.

Before Cyrus could stop them, Austin held him whilst Marc prepared to strike. But before anything happened, they were stopped.

Jonah: Hey! Not him, let him go!

Austin: Why, do you support the gays?

Marc: Ugh, I should've known it!

Jonah: I said, let him go! I don't want you to ruin his pretty face!

Cyrus blushed at Jonah's comment, but not before Jonah blushed in slight awkwardness of what he had said. To their surprise, Austin and Marc let Cyrus go and left without saying another word.

Cyrus: I'm confused.

Jonah: Just shut up! I'm trying to think here!

Cyrus: Oh really? What about?

Jonah: About why I find you so interesting.

That made everything more confusing for Cyrus. Why would Jonah, the leader of the gang, be the slightest bit interested in him?

Cyrus: I'm wondering why, after everything, I'm not mad at you.

Jonah: Because you like me so much?

Cyrus: Wow... Your certainly not lacking in confidence are you?

Jonah: When you're me, you have to be confident.

Cyrus: This still doesn't explain why you are interested in me.

Jonah: Well, perhaps maybe I like you too.

Jonah felt his heart racing as he processed what he said to Cyrus. He never understood how he felt, but everything started to fall into place.

Cyrus: Y-you like me too?

Jonah: Well, you are very cute, and very kind.

Cyrus: But you're a horrible person.

Jonah: I know. And that's because I feel so insecure.

Cyrus looked at Jonah and saw a troubled boy, who wanted an escape. They sat down at a table and continued to talk, in the hope that the situation would be resolved.

Cyrus: You're insecure?

Jonah: I have so many issues, including anxiety, having to live up to a reputation and the fact that... I am gay.

Cyrus: Whoa, so you and I are more alike than I thought?

Jonah: I wouldn't say that. We're very different people.

Cyrus: But we both have anxiety and we both just happen to be gay.

Jonah: What are you saying exactly?

Cyrus: I think fate is trying to drop us a hint.

Jonah: What hint?

Cyrus sighed, Jonah's obliviousness was almost laughable, but also endearing.

Cyrus: We should be together.

Jonah: You think that's a good idea?

Cyrus: Well yes, clearly I make you a better person, and you protect me, so we are perfect for each other.

Jonah: You make a good point.

Cyrus: What do you say? Are we going to go out?

Jonah: Yes, we will go out.

There was a break in noise as the boys sat silently. Five minutes went by before they came back to reality.

Cyrus: So, do I get to kiss you now?

Jonah: Hmm... let me think... YES!

After laughing, Jonah pulled Cyrus toward him and their lips touched. Jonah felt an explosion in his mind, the kiss had confirmed that he loved Cyrus. Meanwhile Cyrus was not believing what was happening.

When the kiss was over, Jonah looked at Cyrus with a smile. It was the first time Cyrus ever saw Jonah smile, and it really looked good on his face.

Cyrus: You must show your dimples off more, they're very nice.

Jonah: That depends on whether you make me smile. Who am I kidding, that's definitely gonna happen!

They were running late, so they went to their next class happy in the knowledge that they now had each other.

What do you make of bad boy Jonah in this part?
