Jonah thinks about Cyrus coming out, and starts to see his friend in a different light, causing yet more revelations.
When Jonah had got home, he went up into his room and closed the door. He had a picture of him and Cyrus on his phone. He looked at how happy Cyrus was, and noticed the way that his friend had been looking at him.
He remembered when he had first talked to Cyrus about Iris, and how Cyrus looked a little less than enthused about the idea. He put it down to nerves, but now he realised that Cyrus had been living in denial.
He walked over to Cyrus' house and knocked on the door. He was met by Cyrus himself, which he was happy about as it meant he didn't have to talk to his friend's parents.
Cyrus: Jonah? What's up?
Jonah: Can I talk to you Cyrus?
Cyrus: Sure! Come on in!
Cyrus went into his living room and was followed by Jonah. Whilst Cyrus sat down on the couch, Jonah stood, trying to figure out exactly what he wanted to say.
Jonah: Look, I... I'm sorry.
Cyrus: Sorry? For what?
Jonah: I shouldn't have put pressure on you to go out with Iris.
Cyrus: It's okay.
Jonah: No, it's not. I shouldn't have assumed you would want to go out with a girl. I feel so bad about that.
Cyrus: You aren't angry that I'm gay, are you?
Jonah: Of course not! I'm proud of you. Although in all honesty I'm a bit upset that you couldn't tell me sooner.
Cyrus: I know, I should've trusted you.
Jonah: I feel bad for being upset too. I can imagine this being such a difficult thing for you to discuss with anyone.
This conversation was beginning to make Cyrus really confused. He was trying to work out what Jonah was feeling in that moment.
Cyrus: You know, I appreciate that I can tell you things I can't tell other people.
Jonah: Really?
Cyrus: You're the only guy friend I have, but you're also the best.
Jonah: Thanks, perhaps I should discuss the main reason I'm here.
Cyrus: That would be great.
Jonah: I wanted to ask you something.
Cyrus: Fire away.
Jonah took out his phone and found the picture he was previously looking at. It was going to be difficult to ask Cyrus about it, so he tried to be careful.
Jonah: You see this picture of us?
Cyrus: Yes, it's one of the best we have!
Jonah: I was wondering, why are you looking at me like that?
Cyrus knew the game was up, he couldn't hide away from his feelings anymore. It was quite scary, but he sort of knew it would be okay too.
Cyrus: Jonah, I really like you. You are the guy who made me see that I don't like girls in that way.
Jonah: So you are attracted to me Cyrus?
Cyrus: Yes. You just make me feel like I can be anything.
Jonah: I don't know what to say.
Cyrus: Are you mad?
Looking at the fear in his friend's eyes, Jonah knew he would have to quickly assure Cyrus, but he didn't know what he felt back.
Jonah: No, if anything I'm so flattered.
Cyrus: It's a shame you're not gay, we could be going out.
Almost instinctively, Jonah grabbed Cyrus and pulled him so he was now standing up. He smashed their lips together. It wasn't the best kiss, as they didn't really know what to do, but it confirmed that they both liked each other.
Jonah: FYI I am gay.
Cyrus: Wow, I'm surprised by that.
Jonah: And you just made me aware of the fact that I really like you too.
Cyrus: What?! Does this mean we can go out?
Jonah: I would like that, so will you be my boyfriend already?
Cyrus laughed at Jonah's impatience, he found it cute that his friend really wanted to go out with him.
Cyrus: Yes, let's go out!
Jonah: Docious magocious!
The boys hugged each other and allowed it to linger for a couple of minutes. It had been worth Cyrus coming out, because now Jonah was also being honest, and better still, they were finally dating.
Hope you enjoyed.
