Being Overheard - Part 2

In Part 2, Cyrus and Jonah hang out a bit and whilst on a date, they make some more discoveries about one another.

Cyrus POV

So it was official, Jonah and  I were finally a couple. My heart was beating so fast and I couldn't stop smiling. Without a doubt, I had never felt more proud in my life.

We were all still sat in The Spoon, when Jonah wanted to talk again.

Jonah: Cy, I was wondering if we could go on a date tonight?

Me: Sure! That would be lovely.

Jonah: Docious! Can we go to the carnival?

As much as I loved hanging out with Jonah, I became anxious. Carnivals and I don't really see eye to eye. I puked in my shoe after going on the merry-go-round.

Me: Aren't you worried that I'd embarrass you again?

Jonah: You could never embarrass me Cy-guy.

Me: Do you really mean that?

Jonah: Of course, I think you're cute when you get nervous and I wish that I had hugged you during the merry-go-round.

Me: But that would've made it worse.

Jonah: In what way?

Me: I could've ended up puking over you.

Jonah: I wouldn't have been angry if you had. I was just worried about you.

Me: In that case, I'd love to go to the carnival with you!

Jonah: Awesome, I'll pick you up at 5.30.

Me: Great, see you then.

We walked home and when I entered my house, mum was waiting for me. It had been an interesting day so far, and she looked tired.

Me: Are you okay?

Mum: Yes sweetie, it's just been so busy today.

I went into the living room and got out my phone. I looked at some pictures Jonah and I had taken that time I ditched Buffy just to hang with him. I was smiling to myself, but I didn't realise mum had entered the room.

Mum: What are you so happy about?

Me: I'm looking at some pictures I took with Jonah a while back.

Mum: Can I see?

I was hesitant about showing her, because I didn't know if she would understand how I felt about him. She took my phone and I saw her smile.

Mum: So this is the famous Jonah Beck.

Me: Yes.

Mum: He means a lot to you, doesn't he?

Me: Well, I guess.

Mum: Don't lie to me sweetie, I know how you feel about him.

Me: You do?

Mum: Cyrus you're always boasting about him and I can tell that you love him.

Me: I do, so much. We became a couple today and I'm going on my first date with him tonight.

Mum: That's nice, I hope you have fun.

Me: Thanks mum.

I hugged her, and went up to my room to get ready. I couldn't wait for this evening, it was going to be fun.

Jonah POV

It took me a while to get ready for my date with Cyrus. I wanted to look my best for him, because I know he'd make such an effort to look good for me.
