Cyrus overhears a conversation between Jonah and TJ, which causes him to look at both of them differently.

The previous original character, Danny, is in this.

The last week had been really good for Cyrus. He was going out with TJ, Jonah had been very supportive of him, more so than Buffy or Andi, plus they were all getting on so well. Everywhere he looked, Cyrus saw heaven. Nothing could make him sad anymore.

Jonah had never seen Cyrus this happy. It made him feel slightly anxious, as he worried that TJ and Cyrus' relationship would mean he couldn't hang out with either of them as much as usual. If he was being completely honest, he was more concerned about Cyrus than TJ on that point.

After Ultimate Frisbee practice, Jonah thought it may be a good idea to speak to TJ, to clear the air fully with him. He wanted to ensure that he was showing both of them an equal amount of compassion.

Meanwhile, Cyrus had watched TJ's Basketball game and cheered on from the sides. Usually it would hurt Jonah to know Cyrus preferred to watch TJ, but as they were going out, he completely understood.

After the match was finished, TJ and Cyrus met up and were both really happy to see one another, even though they hadn't stopped seeing each other for the entire game.

Cyrus: Great game!

TJ: Thanks, I'm just gonna go and get changed.

Cyrus: Okay, see you soon.

TJ: Cool.

TJ walked away and Cyrus wanted to go and get a drink while he waited. Once TJ got to the locker room, he was met by his teammate Danny.

TJ: So, that was good.

Danny: It was... we rock!

TJ: I know, our plan worked.

Danny: What about the other plan?

TJ: Oh with Cyrus? Yes, he's fallen for our trick.

Danny: He really likes you doesn't he?

TJ: Yes, which means it'll be even better when I break his heart.

Jonah entered the locker room just as TJ said the last sentence. He stood flabbergasted, as what had been said finally registered.

Jonah: What are you talking about?

TJ: What the hell are you doing here Beck?

Jonah: I came looking for you because I wanted to talk, but now I don't.

Meanwhile, Cyrus was getting bored of waiting and he too walked to the locker room. He heard a few raised voices, and decided it would be safer to stay outside and listen.

TJ: You really think I could love Cyrus?

Jonah: Of course, why wouldn't you?

TJ: Because he is arrogant and talks down to people. I've never known anyone so annoying and I want to take him down a peg.

Danny: We wanted to do this, to make him ashamed to be who he is. We can't have gay students at this school. It's sick!

Cyrus couldn't believe what he was hearing. The boy who he thought loved him was shamelessly insulting him behind his back. He kept his composure, wanting to hear the rest of the talk.

Jonah: What are you talking about?

TJ: You must know that Cyrus is gay?

Jonah: Well yes! He is, or at least was, going out with you... you idiot!

TJ: How can you be friends with him?

Danny: He sucks!

His blood beginning to boil, Jonah couldn't control his temper, causing him to shove Danny, quickly followed by TJ.

Jonah: No he doesn't! Cyrus is the best guy in the world!

TJ: Haha, good joke!

Jonah: I'm serious, he isn't annoying or arrogant and he doesn't look down on anybody!

TJ: You're stupid if you believe that.

Jonah: I've known Cyrus longer than you, and I know he offers nothing but loyalty, kindness and a shoulder to cry on.

Through a gap in the door, Cyrus was able to see Jonah get angry with TJ. He had always known that Jonah was a good guy, but this confirmed that Jonah was also a great friend. He was defending him so nicely. Danny was the next person to interject.

Danny: I know what this is about.

Jonah: You've lost me there.

Danny: I know why you are defending Cyrus so much.

Jonah: Okay, why would that be?

TJ: You wanted this to happen, because now you can love him.

Danny: Deny it all you want, you are gay for him Jonah!

Jonah: I... Okay so what if I am? I will never get that chance, but you did and you wasted it.

Cyrus' breath was taken away by Jonah. All this time, the feelings had been mutual. His anger and hurt had been replaced by a new feeling, one of love and happiness.

TJ: He won't know that you feel that way, you're such a wimp.

Danny: And he'll never believe you when you tell him about this meeting.

That hit a nerve with Cyrus, who burst proudly through the door, and finally felt confident enough to confront them.

Cyrus: Actually, I would always believe Jonah over you!

Jonah: Cy-Cyrus? What are you doing here?

Cyrus: I came to speak to TJ, but when I heard you arguing, I decided to stay outside and listen.

TJ: You are a sneaky one! I hate you Cyrus, and I'm only frustrated that I didn't get to break your heart how I wanted.

Danny: Oh well, we don't need to worry about that. Now that this is over we can go back to bullying everyone! Especially these two!

Cyrus: Just shut up!

Feeling helpless, Jonah could only speak to Cyrus. It was not easy for everything to be taken in, but he was going to try and put things right.

Jonah: Sorry that this happened, but they were being mean.

TJ: And now, you two can be gay with each other, you're welcome!

Danny: But keep your gayness away from us! We'll tell everyone otherwise.

Jonah: I don't care what you do, but don't you dare hurt my Cyrus!

Cyrus: And you better not do anything to my Jonah either!

TJ and Danny just laughed it off and left, purposefully making sure that they bumped into Jonah and Cyrus as they went.

The boys felt awkward, yet happy that this happened, but they both had so many questions, which they hoped would get answered.

Part 2 coming out soon.
