Jyrus Oneshots - Part I (COMPLETED)

Behind Your Back

This oneshot starts with Cyrus dating Iris and Jonah dating Amber, until they see something that changes everything.

Cyrus was feeling rather disenchanted with Iris. He had already come out to Buffy and Andi, and had admitted his feelings for Jonah to them, but he was too scared to come out to anyone else so he tried to get on with things. He liked Iris, just not more than a friend.

Jonah was going out with Amber, and he thought they were the perfect couple. He was enjoying spending time with her, despite the fact that it was obvious to everyone else that she was using him.

Andi and Buffy were with Cyrus at the spoon. They saw that he was down, and the smile he usually wore was noticeably absent.

Buffy: Something's wrong.

Cyrus: I have no idea what you are talking about.

Andi: Yes you do, you are sad.

Cyrus: It just hurts me to see they way that Amber uses Jonah.

Andi: Tell me about it.

Cyrus: He treats her like a princess, yet she makes so many demands of him.

Buffy: I'm sure he'll see that soon. He can do better than her.

It was difficult for Cyrus, but he was surprisingly not cheered up when Jonah walked in and sat next to him.

Jonah: Hey Cy-guy.

Cyrus: Hi Jo-bro.

Jonah: Are you okay?

Cyrus: I'm good.

Jonah: Amber and I wanted to invite you and Iris for a double date tonight. Iris has already said yes, but I wanted to ask you personally.

Cyrus: Oh, sure.

Jonah: Cool, meet us outside at 6.30. Iris is meeting with Amber beforehand, but I'll be there when you arrive.

Cyrus: I'll be there.

Jonah: Docious!

As the other boy walked off, Cyrus sighed. He was feeling more troubled than ever, and was dreading the double date.

Buffy: Just look at it as time with Jonah.

Andi: He cares about you Cyrus, and I'm sure he'd see if you didn't enjoy yourself.

Cyrus: I doubt it, he can't even see how Amber treats him.

Buffy: Maybe that will change tonight.

Cyrus: Will you, maybe, come with me to meet them? You can go once I've met them, but I want you there.

Andi: Of course we will.

Buffy: And I'll make Jonah realise that he likes you!

Cyrus: Thanks, but that is never going to happen.

For the rest of the day, Cyrus wouldn't speak to anyone if he didn't need to. His heart ached, he couldn't believe he could pine for someone so much, all he wanted was Jonah, yet it was Amber who had the one thing he truly wanted.

At 6.00, Buffy and Andi arrived at Cyrus' house to walk with him. They greeted the boy with a hug, but could feel how tense and uncomfortable he was. They took their time walking to meet the others.

Andi: Hey, keep yourself positive, you're such a good guy.

Buffy: And you don't know that Jonah doesn't see you like that.

Cyrus: It's not like that though. He only has eyes for Amber.

Andi: Then he is blind to how sweet and kind you are.
