Jyrus Oneshots - Part I (COMPLETED)

My Brother

Cyrus and Jonah are brothers (Jonah is older by a year). It falls upon Jonah to protect Cyrus at all costs.

Jonah POV

I have always shared a complicated relationship with Cyrus. Even though we are brothers, we've never been very close. Well, having said that we got closer after he came out to me, but other than that, we've been distant.

I'm going out with this lovely girl called Bella, but Cyrus had been less successful when it comes to relationships.

That all changed recently, when he started going out with the basketball captain, TJ. I admit that I've had my fair share of problems with them being together, but I've tried to be friendly, for Cyrus' sake.

I spotted TJ sitting alone, and I thought this would be a great time to get to know him a bit better.

Me: So TJ, I wanna talk.

TJ: Okay Jonah.

Me: Do you honestly love my brother?

TJ: Yeah.

Me: You don't sound very enthusiastic about that.

TJ: Believe me, I'm very happy with him.

I felt that we were making slow, if not steady, progress. I knew that Cyrus really wanted my approval, so the least I could do was make an effort to try.

Me: You know if you break Cyrus' heart, I'll make your life hell.

TJ: Don't worry, I'll take care of him. He's too nice for me to hurt.

Me: Make sure you look after him, or else!

TJ: I will, I promise.

I felt a bit better after speaking to TJ, but there was something about him that I didn't trust. He has this reputation of being a bit of a player, and I only wanted to ensure that Cyrus had a loving relationship.

The rest of the day was surprisingly positive, and I was able to get a lot of useful things completed over the afternoon.

Cyrus POV

I noticed TJ was rather subdued when I met him at lunch. He had his head down, and I knew something must be up. I took a seat next to him.

Me: Are you okay TJ?

TJ: Um... no Cyrus, I'm not.

Me: Why? What's wrong?

TJ: We need to break up.

My heart sank, my eyes were wet with tears. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, and I wanted an explanation.

Me: But... what have I done?

TJ: Nothing, I just didn't love you. I thought I did but I don't.

Me: I don't understand.

TJ: I would've tried to make it work, but I had a visit from your brother earlier.

Me: What?

I knew it, I knew Jonah was behind this. My blood boiled with rage, but not before TJ explained it a bit more.

TJ: Calm down... He told me that if I broke your heart, he would make my life hell.

Me: But you have broken my heart.

TJ: But I haven't dragged it out, I stopped before it was too late.

Me: I don't know what to say.

TJ: Your brother scares me, and I don't want any grief.

Me: I'm scared of him too... Well, a bit anyway.
