Playing Matchmaker

Cyrus tells Buffy how he feels, Jonah tells Andi how he feels, and the girls come up with a plan to get them together.

Buffy was very proud of Cyrus after he came out to her at the spoon. She knew it was very difficult for him, so she was touched that he would tell her first. Buffy hoped that one day, Cyrus would get a chance with Jonah.

What they were unaware of was that when Jonah spoke to Andi after making Cyrus MVP, he came out to her and told her he liked Cyrus. Andi felt the same as Buffy, she was pleased that he told her before anyone else. She also guessed that was why he made Cyrus MVP.

At the Spoon, Buffy and Andi met up for lunch. They had both had a rather dull morning, so were excited about hanging out. The topic of conversation became interesting almost immediately.

Andi: You'll never guess what.

Buffy: What?

Andi: Jonah told me his biggest secret.

Buffy: That's funny, Cyrus has told me his biggest secret as well.

Andi: Wouldn't it be funny if they had the same secret...

Buffy: Haha, I doubt that very much though.

Andi: I would tell you, but I think it would be betraying his trust.

Buffy: Same here. Tell you what, if we both say their secrets, we'll be in trouble together.

Andi: Deal.

Buffy: Okay, so Cyrus told me that he is gay.

Andi was not shocked by that, but she did chuckle slightly at the irony.

Andi: Wow, good for him.

Buffy: And, he maybe likes Jonah.

Andi: No way!

Buffy: Are you okay?

Andi: This is perfect! Jonah told me he is gay and likes Cyrus.

Buffy was shocked. She laughed, and the screeched slightly in excitement. She could finally help Cyrus to get his lucky break, and she wasn't going to waste this opportunity to help him get true happiness with the boy he dreamed about.

Buffy: We have to get them together!

Andi: How are we gonna do that?

Buffy: We'll set them up on a blind date. We'll see how long it takes for them to work out what we're doing.

Andi: This is going to be great!

They quickly went to the boys houses, Buffy went to Cyrus and Andi went to Jonah.

Cyrus had been feeling more positive since he came out to Buffy. He still knew that he had many people to tell and he was not sure how.

He answered the door and saw Buffy, who had a suspiciously big smile on her face. She grabbed his hand and dragged him out of his house.

Cyrus: What are you doing?

Buffy: I've found a guy who wants to date you, we're meeting him at the Spoon.

Cyrus: Oh okay, why not?

Buffy: That's the spirit.

Meanwhile, Andi was being suspiciously happy around Jonah, who was as confused as Cyrus had been:

Jonah: What's going on? Why are you so happy?

Andi: I was speaking to a guy at the Spoon, he wants to go out with you.

Jonah: Well, no harm in trying, I guess.

Andi: Come on then!

Buffy had arrived at the Spoon with Cyrus, who was intrigued as to who he was meeting. He was excited, but he knew it wouldn't be the boy he wanted. They sat next to each other on one side of a booth.

Cyrus: Tell me about this guy.

Buffy: Well he's very sporty, and very handsome, you won't be disappointed.

Just as Buffy finished her last sentence, Andi arrived with Jonah.

Andi: Hey guys, fancy seeing you here.

Jonah: Okay what's going on?

Andi: Have a seat.

Andi pushed Jonah into a seat on the opposite side of the booth to Cyrus, before sitting next to him. This was where the girls' plan would begin. They both pretended that they had no idea of the other's intentions.

Buffy: So why are you guys here?

Andi: Jonah's meeting someone.

Buffy: What a coincidence! Cyrus is here to meet someone too.

Andi: Well, that doesn't seem logical.

Buffy: Why not?

Andi: Because Cyrus and Jonah like each other, why don't they go out.

Jonah and Cyrus looked at each other with shock. They knew that they had been tricked, but they weren't complaining.

Jonah: Wait, you like me Cy-guy.

Cyrus: Of course I do JB. I find it difficult to believe that you could ever like me.

Andi: Trust me, he loves you Cyrus. The way he spoke about you to me after you became MVP proved that.

Buffy: And Cyrus was at this very booth when he told me how much he liked you. It was really sweet.

Jonah: In that case, do you want to go out on a date with me Cyrus?

Cyrus: Well duh! I'd love to Jonah.

Buffy: We'll leave you to it.

Andi: Have fun guys.

The girls left them promptly and Cyrus felt very happy. Jonah reached across the table and held Cyrus' hands.

Jonah: Cyrus, for the longest time, I knew how much I loved you. You are the first person I think about when I wake up, and the last thing in my mind when I go to bed.

Cyrus: I couldn't believe it when we became friends Jonah. The fact that you talked to me, you wanted to spend time with me... I was so happy.

Jonah: I'm glad the girls did this for us.

Cyrus: Me too, but I want to try something.

Jonah: What would that be?

Cyrus: Let's go outside.

Cyrus didn't let Jonah's hand go, he pulled Jonah out of the Spoon and walked down the road a bit, reaching an empty alleyway. Cyrus was feeling really confident at this point, so he pushed Jonah up against the wall and kissed him. He didn't end the kiss for a good minute or two. When they pulled away, Cyrus was flustered, but Jonah was smiling.

Jonah: I liked that, I know we're meant to be together.

Cyrus: It was amazing wasn't it? We definitely need to go on an official date.

Jonah: That's good with me, I want to hang out with you forever.

Cyrus: I'll never stop being a Jonah Beck fan. In fact I'm your number 1 fan, if you didn't know.

Jonah: Trust me, I already knew that! And I'm your number 1 fan, you are always there for me, and that's worth more than anything I achieve in Ultimate Frisbee.

Looking into each other's eyes, the boys were finding themselves lost, dreamily staring as the minutes ticked by.

I like the idea of the girls being matchmakers, Andi and Buffy would be great at that.
