Cyrus wants to tell Jonah about how he feels but is scared. Talking things through with his friends, he decides whether or not to be honest. Told from a single POV.

Cyrus POV

I didn't know how much longer I could keep this secret. My heart was racing, my face was burning, from the tears that were rolling down my cheeks.

I was looking at a photo which meant everything. It always made me happy, as I saw a photo that had Jonah and I after and Ultimate Frisbee match. He had his arm around me and we were both smiling.

As much as I loved the picture, it made me upset. What I was looking at was heaven, but I knew it would never be reality.

I was interrupted from my trance by Marty and Buffy. I hid the photo quickly as I didn't want them to know what I was thinking.

Buffy: Are you okay?

Me: Y-yeah I'm okay.

Buffy: Why do I not believe you?

Me: Believe me, I'm fine.

Marty: Come on Cyrus, even I can tell that you aren't.

This was hopeless in my opinion. I knew I didn't have the ability to lie convincingly, but I was still going to try.

Me: You're all crazy, I'm fine.

Buffy: What's that?

Buffy was pointing to my desk, and the ruffled piece of paper that I had placed over the photo to hide it.

Me: It's nothing.

Buffy: In that case, we'll take a look.

I was about to protest, but Marty was so fast that he got there before me. Under the paper, he found the photo, and that made me cry again.

Buffy: You love this photo don't you?

Me: Y-yes! It's the only one that makes me feel good.

Marty: Because of Jonah, right?

Me: I'm making a big fuss over nothing.

Buffy: You still love him don't you? Even though you told us you didn't anymore.

Me: He would never go out with me, what would be the point of trying?

Suprisingly, I felt Marty put an arm around me. It was a nice gesture, but I would still prefer Jonah's arm. I allowed myself to cry on his shoulder.

Marty: Can I ask you a question?

Me: Yes.

Marty: Do you ever pay attention to what Jonah says?

Me: What do yo mean?

Marty: He always says that you're cool.

Buffy: You remember that time you hiccuped, and Jonah said it was adorable?

Me: I...

Buffy: He constantly hugs you, and he always rearranges his schedule so he can hang out with you.

Me: He only sees me as a friend.

Buffy: I think you are wrong.

Marty: Dude, come on. You don't need glasses to see that he likes you.

There was a bit of frustration in Marty's voice. I suppose I was blind to many things, but I refused to believe I was blind to Jonah's feelings.

Me: What are you talking about?

Buffy: Wake up Cyrus, I swear if you don't look at it logically, I'll scream.

Fearing the consequences, I did as Buffy asked. I closed my eyes and remembered a few occasions when Jonah and I had spent time together in recent days. He looked really happy, even more so than when he was with Andi.

Me: Okay, maybe you're right.

Buffy: So, why don't you talk to him about how you feel?

Me: You're absolutely sure he likes me?

Marty: For the last time, yes! Now are you going to tell him, or not?

Me: Yes, yes I will!

Buffy: Good, now next time you see him, you must talk it through. You'll finally have your dream boy!

Me: I'd love that!

With newly found confidence, I went in search of Jonah with Buffy and Marty. I was going to make sure that he knew how I felt, and I hoped that Buffy and Marty were right.

Buffy: I've never seen you move so quickly before.

Me: Well, this is important and I don't want to waste any more time.

Marty: Still, keep calm. If it's meant to be, it'll happen.

Me: Well---

That's when I ran into Jonah, I realised that it was now or never. Our relationship was going to be changing.

Me: Jonah?
