With the help of his friends, Cyrus finally comes out to his parents, with some surprising results.

Cyrus had been secretly dreading and wanting this moment. He was going to tell his parents that he was gay. He knew that there could be some negativity and consequences to what he was going to do, but he needed to do it for himself.

He wasn't sure how he would, he had thought about different methods he could use. He wanted  his friends to be involved in some way, so when they met at the Spoon, he talked about it to them.

Cyrus: I want you all to help me with something.

Buffy: Sure, what can we do for you?

Cyrus: I'm going to tell my parents that I'm gay.

Andi: Good for you!

Jonah: What can we do to help?

Cyrus: I want you to be there.

Jonah: Cool, no problem.

It was a relief for Cyrus that his friends were supportive of him and his plan. He didn't really know how he was going to tell his parents, but he was determined to be honest.

Andi: How are we going to do this?

Cyrus: I'm not sure, it makes me nervous though.

Jonah: Don't be nervous, you'll always have us no matter how your parents react.

The fact that Jonah had put a hand on Cyrus' shoulder as he spoke made the smaller by blush a bit, but also assured him that everything was going to be okay. It was all he needed to know that he could come out without losing everyone.

Buffy: My advice would be, just tell them how you feel.

Cyrus: You're right.

Andi: We'll be right by your side.

Jonah: And we'll never leave you high and dry.

Cyrus couldn't wait any longer, he went home and his friends followed. He knew that this was one of the biggest moments of his life, and it could make everything better or worse. When he arrived, his parents were just talking on their couch.

Cyrus: Mum, dad, I have something to tell you.

Leslie: Okay, what is it?

Norman: You can tell us.

Cyrus: I'm gay.

Cyrus shut his eyes, feeling quietly proud that he just said it without hesitation, but also worrying that his parents would hate him.

Leslie: That's okay honey.

Norman: As long as you're happy.

Cyrus: Thanks, oh what a relief.

Cyrus turned to his friends and they all laughed together. It was as if a giant weight had been taken off of his shoulders.

Leslie: We'll always love you.

Norman: If I think about it, it makes sense.

Leslie: The way you look at a certain someone.

Cyrus: Oh, I see...

Norman: Does this mean you finally told Jonah?

Then things took a turn. Jonah had thought that Norman meant when Cyrus told Jonah he was gay, but Cyrus knew that there was more to it.

Cyrus: To an extent.

Jonah: Wait, what does that mean?

Leslie: You're the only boy my little Cyrus talks about.

Norman: Surely you must already know all of this Jonah?

Leslie: Aren't you going out with him?

There was nothing that Jonah could say, he looked at Cyrus expectantly in the hopes of getting some clarification.

Cyrus: Jonah... I...

Buffy: You might as well say it.

Andi: He'll find out soon enough, be better to hear it from you.

Jonah: Be honest with me Cyrus.

Cyrus: Okay, it's true. I really like you, but the reason I never told you is because I didn't want you to stop being my best friend.

Jonah: I promise that nothing would ever stop me from being your best friend dude.

Cyrus: The problem is, it hurts when I see everyone else happy and in relationships.

Jonah: Cyrus, you will be in a relationship one day. A nice guy will turn up.

Cyrus: But I want that guy to be you, Jonah.

Jonah looked around the room and everyone looked sad. He couldn't figure out what was going on in their minds. It was all very sudden.

Jonah: Look, how about I have some time to think about this.

Cyrus: You mean, there is a chance?

Cyrus couldn't hide the hope in his heart, but he was really emotional. This could be a very telling moment in his life.

Jonah: Maybe, but I want you to know that I will always be on your side.

Cyrus: Okay, thanks for being here today.

Jonah turned around to leave Cyrus' house, but he looked back at the other boy and saw that he was crying. It was too much, so Jonah marched back and wrapped his arms around Cyrus.

Jonah: What am I doing? Why have I never addressed this before?

Cyrus: What are you talking about?

Jonah: It's you Cyrus.

Cyrus: I don't understand Jonah.

Jonah: I may have gone out with girls in the past, but you're the one I really want.

Cyrus: This... is the greatest moment ever.

Jonah: I love you Cy-guy, please go out with me.

Cyrus: You don't need to ask me twice JoJo, I love you too, and yes I'll go out.

As they hugged, they felt the girls join in and the feeling of anxiety had completely washed away. Norman and Leslie looked on with pride, because finally Cyrus was being true to them, but more importantly, himself.
