part 78

anna + joey

anna, sophia, and joey sat outside the court room. since all three of them were under the age of 18, they couldn't go inside.

{i don't really know how the court stuff really works. i just know from my experience with custody and with my parents. i couldn't go inside the court room do the same and not put them inside.}

anna looked at joey with a questioned face. "what do you think is gonna happen?" she asked him.

he shrugged and slouched his shoulders. "i don't know. what ever happens happens." he says.

whatever happens happens.. those words played through anna's mind like a song. she hoped that it would something that she would want for herself—for her and joey.

they waited outside in silence until they heard voices coming from the hallway. the voices were familiar to sophia and joey.

as the footsteps and voices got closer, sophia were putting the pieces together. sophia stood up to look and see who it was.

she gasped and ran when she saw who it was "bella!"

joeys face lit up as he heard sophia speak. he got up from the bench and ran up to bella and sophia.

anna, curious, went up to sophia and joey. she then realized that it was joey and sophia's older sister.

she never really heard of bella, joey never talked about her a lot. she remembers a time where he told her his dad used to hit bella. maybe that's why she's here, she wondered.

bella pulled away from the hug and looked at anna and smiled. "who's this?" she asked joey.

joey wrapped his arm around anna's shoulder. "this is anna, my girlfriend."

bella's face turned to a disbelief look as joey said girlfriend. joey frowned as he saw her face as anna felt confused.

"what's wrong?" joey asked.

she zoned back in and blinked, "nothing," she says before clearing her throat." it's nice to meet you anna. i'm bella, soph and joey's older sister."

anna softly smiled at her, "it's nice to meet you too."

"what about me!?" all of them hear from down the halls. all four of them look and see a guy that looks a lot like joey.

"scott!" joey yells, but not loud enough.

anna was amazed of how many siblings joey had, four in all. she watched as scott walked down the hallway, reminding her of how joey walked.

"long time no see." joey says, before introducing anna, "this is anna, my girlfriend."

scott have anna a nice nod, "sup."

anna got a feeling that scott was the oldest one of them all. he seemed mature but not mature enough for his age.

all five of them sat down. sophia and bella were talking about boys and scott and joey were talking about senior year. anna sat in the middle all alone while thinking about when her siblings used to talk like this.

she remembered when sarah used to come up to her and ask her about boys, even though anna only had one boyfriend in her life at the time before he met joey.

anna knew nothing about boys, especially 6th grade boys. even though she knows a lot now, she still can't figure them out. heck, she doesn't think she'll ever figure boys

she just knows that she loves joey, and that joey will be there for her until the end, no matter what.
