Dustins pov

"suzie, do you copy?"

"suzie, do you copy?"

"suzie do you copy?" I ask again

"This is suzie. I copy." I hear her sweet voice say.

"suzie!"

"dusty-bun."

"dusty-bun?" Erica asks

"where have you been?"

"i'm so sorry. I—- i've been really busy... uh trying to save the world from russians and monsters." i say laughing

"of course you have." She chuckles

"get the goddamn number already!" Erica whisper yells

"who was that?" Suzie asks

"it was... i don't know, actually. I think it was just some interference. So why don't we ur...  change frequency, to 14.158?"

"copy that. Shifting frequency. Stand by."

Your pov

The big monster thing, they called 'the flayer' was still chasing us and to be honest i was shitting myself.

"y/n, you okay?" Steve asks me worried.

I had basically crawled up in a ball in the corner of the boot, "ye-yeah, yeah i'm fine. Just fine. Great actually." I say

Steve rolls his eyes at me and pulls me into his side, "we're gonna be fine." He says shakily, looking out of the back window.

"just fine." He says half heartedly.

Suddenly the radio goes off and me and steve both look at it.

"Dusty-bun do you copy?" A girl says

"i copy, suzie-poo." Dustin replies, "it sounds much better now, thanks."

Me and steve both look at each, "suzie."

Dustins pov

"okay listen, do you know plancks constant."

"do you know the earth orbits the sun?"

I snicker, "okay so, i know it starts with two sixes and then a... w-what is it?"

"okay, let me just be clear on this. I haven't heard from you in a week, and now you want a mathematical equation that you should know so you can.... save the world?"

"suzie-poo, i promise i'll make it up to you as soon as possible."

"you can make it up to me now." she says

"what?"

"i want to hear it." Suzie says

"not right now." I say panicking

"yes, now dusty-bum." She says demandingly

"suzie-poo this is urgent."

"yes, yes, your saving the world, i heard you the first time, but ged is also saving earth sea and he's about to confront the shadows, so this is suzie signing off."

"wait, wait, wait! okay. okay. okay."

"shit."

Erica suddenly turns off the radio, "enough."

your pov

we continue to drive away from the creature when it suddenly stops and turns around.

"it's turned around." Steve says

"what?" nancy asks

"it's turned around." he says again

"maybe we wore it out?" Lucas asks

"i don't think so. hold on." Jonathan says spinning the car suddenly causing me and will to scream.
