"Halsey and Louis are blessed with a baby girl!" Aunt Steph says with tears of happiness in her eyes.

"Yay congratulations." I scream in excitement and give her a hug.

"Congratulations!" I wish Louis and then rush in the private room to see Halsey and baby Bethany. As I enter in, I wrap my arms around Halsey and congratulate her.
"Where's the baby?" I ask looking at the empty cot at the side of the hospital bed.

"The nurses have taken her to the baby care to be checked. It's been an hour now, tell Louis to go and get her."

"I told you it will be a girl. I just can't wait to see her." I tell her and then go and tell Louis to get Bethany.

After about 5 minutes, Louis enters in the room, carrying the baby.
"Aw, such a cutie! She looks just like her mommy. Round face, long lashes, nose exactly like her mum's." I say aloud trying to annoy Louis.

"Whatever." He told his eyes at me.

"Just like her mommy." I laugh.

"Her eye portion is gone a little bit on the father." My mom says and then congratulates both of them.

"From which angle does she look like the father." I giggle.

"Shut up. She's daddy's girl!" He hits my back and we both laugh.

"Can I carry her?"

"Yeah sure!"

"Aw, she's so cute. So tiny. I'm scared I might drop her down." I look at Halsey and then continue, "So you're become a mom now."
Tears of joy fill her eyes, "Yes, I can't believe."

"So she's Bethany?"

"Yes, Bethany!"

...

"I wish I could stay the night with you here but I have my last biology paper tomorrow so-"

"It's okay, Louis and Jade are staying the night with me."

"Take care, bye. Love you baby girl!" Giving Bethany a kiss on the forehead, I leave with mom, aunt, Jenna and Zac.

"The baby is so cute." I tell Zac.

"Yeah. Waiting for this day in my life."

"Hmm. Would you want a girl or a boy?"

"Anything. We shall be happy with whatever God gifts us."

"Yeah. Can we stop talking about this, we're young to talk about children right now."

"Yeah, first we gotta make our career, earn, and then marry."

"Exactly, so like 10 years from now." I laugh.

"No, 9. You're extending the years day by day."

"Ha ha. No its-"

"Ssh!" He kisses me.

...

"Yay prelims are over!" I scream.

"Don't be so happy. Board examinations are still left." Lyra reminds me.

"Ugh, but there's time for it. I'm so glad we don't have to come to school anymore. I don't have to see her face."

"Yeah, but we gotta come to take our admit cards and date sheet." Celine says.

"Yeah but that's just one day and hardly an hour. Also I'm so happy, I'll get to spend time with the baby."

"Aw, even I want to see her." Celine and Tessa say.

"We'll face time baby Bethany." Lyra says in excitement.

"Yeah okay." I laugh and then giving them a hug, I leave.

When I step out of the school, I see Zac and Shawn laughing and talking.

"How was your exam?" Zac and Shawn ask at the same time.

"It went good."

"Kuttay ke doctor!" They both laugh and give a hi five to each other.

"Fuck you'll. It's called vet!"

"Just kidding babe. Chill sweetheart." Zac says, wrapping his arm round my shoulder.

"Your girlfriend takes everything seriously." Shawn tells Zac.

"I don't." I defend myself.

"Yes, you do. Can't even joke with you, you get mad at me. Also you'll have been best friends since long. I don't know how you dealt with her before. I pity you then Shawn. Has she always been crazy like that?" Zac asks Shawn

"Oh don't ask. She was crazier before and I thank goodness that I'm not alone anymore to deal with her drama. But she's changed over this past year. She's not the same person she used to be. She's so quiet and lost nowadays. She hardly speaks to me."

"So you'll both are gonna stand and talk shit about me and I'm gonna listen." I scowl but then burst into a laughter with them.

"You'll both are so annoying." I whinge.

"Lexi let me tell you, you're not the same person anymore. It's good in a way but bad in a way too. You've changed a lot over this past year and I kinda don't like it. So kindly keep this changed behavior with the outside world not with me. You probably think I'll turn out to be fake too but Lexi everyone isn't the same. You know I was always there for you, and Zac and me will always be there for you. Stop being quiet and lost and talk more often like you used to."

"Yeah okay best man." I force a smile and then look at Zac.

"Best man?" Shawn looks at me puzzled.

"Yeah I decided to make you my best man for my wedding." I giggle.

"Without taking my permission you-"

"I don't need your permission."

"And with who you're getting married?" Zac frowns.

"With you, obviously."

"So you plan to get married to me without informing me. Wow." Zac laughs.

"10 years from now, I told you."

"Not 10 please. You know I can't stay wait so long."

"Fuck the wedding, who's my partner?"

"Mia, for sure. The same girl you were trying to flirt with on the retreat day."

"Oof Mama Mia, here I come-"

"Bro she's my sister."

"Fudge I'm so sorry." He says and we all burst into a laughter.

"I forgive you." Zac pats his back and laughs.

"Anyways, Shawn's right. We're always there for you. What else do you want?" Zac says pulling me closer to him.

Luna. Kim. Elaine. I want my friends back. I miss them all. No I shouldn't want them back after they behaved like that with me. I have to forget them. Halsey was right, friends are not forever. Only few are. In that few, I always imagined these three but unfortunately I guess they were not meant to be for long. I wish they were though.
"Nothing else." I answer.

"Good. When you have us, you don't need anyone else." Shawn says.

"Let's get going home now. We gotta go to the hospital too."

"Oh yes."

"Hospital?"

"Oh yeah, Halsey had a baby girl."

"Wow. Congratulations Aunt Lexi."

"Thanks."

"Bye, take care."

I reach home and hurry into the shower before Zac follows me in and lock the door as fast as possible.

"I thought we could shower together."

"No way." I scream aloud so he may hear me through the sound of rushing water. I feel relaxed as the hot water runs down my body and close my eyes.
