"We shouldn't be doing this. It's not right." I say, pulling away from the kiss and sit back in the passenger seat.
"Are we done with this shitty space yet or are you planning on staying away from me still?"
"Tell me you didn't fuck her." I blurt out.
"Zac? What!? Did you?" I ask, eyes popping when he remains quiet.
"She kissed me. It was just once, I swear."
"When? "Why?"
"Sunday, after mass, in my car. Right after you walked away from me, after I called out to you a several times."
"You didn't come behind me."
"You wanted space!" He throws his arms in the small space between us in the car.
"Why did you-" I begin.
"Lexi, you just ignored and left. I thought you wanted nothing to do with me and the group at all. I was fucked up and she kissed me and I let her because that was the only way I thought I could forget the way your kiss felt against my lips but I was wrong. I felt nothing but her sloppy tongue making me feel sick."
"I- I don't know what,"
"I'm sorry, I really am. But atleast I'm honest." He interrupts, joining his hands in front of me. I push down his hands and look away, out of the window.
"It made me feel sick and I nearly puked all over her, I swear. You're what I wanted, want and will always want."
"Want?" I say, hurt by his choice of word.
"Yes. Whatever our souls are made up of, yours and mine are the same." He qoutes Emily Bronte. From when did he start reading 'Wuthering Heights' let alone books.
"No, they're not. There's a difference. You want me but I need you!"
"Also, don't compare us to Heathcliff and Catherine!" I add.
...
We're now at Aunt Steph's place for dinner. The only people invited are my cousins, Jade and Jenna and their mom, Halsey's in-laws and us. Throughout I have to bear Aunt Steph's attitude and Aunt Janice's glares at me for having my boyfriend invited for all family dinners and occasions at such a young age. And Zac acting all frisky with Jenna makes me want to slap him. I nudge him and roll my eyes everytime he tries to say something flirty. I know he's just teasing around but like, I don't want her to get the wrong intention from him messing around.
"What was that!?" I ask when we leave the house.
"What?" He asks, furrowing his brows.
"Nothing, just forget it."
"Tell me." He begins to demand but then insists, "please?"
"Nothing. She's coming right?"
"Who she?" He asks, perplexed.
"Gwyneth. She's coming on the trip right?"
"Yeah I guess, I don't know."
"Oh."
"I'm not coming then." I add.
"You are!" He demands again but then softens his voice, pleading. "Please come. You need this trip."
"I'm not coming if she is!"
"Fine, then I'm not going too. I planned it all for you and if you aren't coming along then we're not going as well and that's that!"
"You could simply just-"
"Tear her ticket and apologize?"
"I know it's selfish of me to think that, let alone say. But you knew the instant I saw her, I didn't like her. Maybe it's because you'll had a history and she experienced stuff with you which I didn't as yet." I hate the fact that he has slept with her but not with me as yet. Not only her but with a few others. It's stupid that his past is affecting me even though it shouldn't but I can't ignore or deny the jealousy I feel towards the girl since she experienced him in bed.
