Bi-stressed

CHAPTER 15

"Lexi, come on!" Kim shouts out from a distance. I was so into my thoughts that I forgot how far I walked away from them. This view is so beautiful. The warm briny water hits my feet again, relaxing them in this cold weather. Her face appears in my head as I take a last view of the place and walk back to them.

"Coming!" I shout back.

As I walk to them, I realize Luna is not with them anymore. Oh I forgot she was with Laura. The way she is with her is killing me, burning me with jealousy. Why? Why should I care anyways?
"You love her." My subconscious hits me.

When I see her, she's with Laura. She seems hurt. She's not laughing anymore like she was when she was around me. It looks like their having an intense conversation, prolly about me. I'm sure it's about me. I don't care. "You do care."  My subconscious hits me again.

Melissa and Delilah walk away to Luna and Kim and me go for a walk somewhere. I have no idea where we are going but we keep walking until I meet Lyra and Celine.

"Long time, no see." Lyra asks sarcastically.

"Hmm." I reply with a soft smile.

"Enjoy." She says, returning me a smile.

We see a shop ahead and go to buy tea.

"Can we have two cups of tea?" I ask.

"Sure." The shop keeper replies.

He pours the boiled water from the jar into two cups, he then puts the tea bags in and places the cups in front of us on the counter. "I'm no way having tea without sugar." I say in a low voice to Kim but it's loud enough that he hears.

He disappears and suddenly comes back in with thin sugar receptacles.

"No one has tea without sugar unless you have diabetes." He laughs.

"Thank you." We join in the laughter.

We take hold of our cups and head towards our group sitting in the grass.
Luna is with them too and Zoe, Vanessa and Felicia are hanging out with them now.

"Fuck, my finger!" I scream as the blazing hot tea drips from the cup onto my hand.

"Be careful." Kim says while burning her finger as well.

We go and sit on the grass next them. Luna is acting so weird. She's not talking anymore and not even looking at me. My rejection to her for sitting in the boat, hurt her maybe. She's upset because of that I guess. I don't need to care anyways. I'm done. We've ended everything and she was the one to speak to me today so I don't need to regret anything. It was fine for a day at least.

"Group picture!" Zoe shouts out.

We all gather close together for the picture but Luna doesn't move. She's seated as she was...

"Luna! Get in the picture."

She nods, looking away.

Vanessa goes to her and pulls her in.

"I don't want to..."

"Just one picture."

One picture became a hundred.
It was time to leave. Kim forced me to sit with her in their coaster. I didn't really want to but I agreed with her. Zoe and me went in. Luna's mood is off. I'm dying to ask her what happened but...

"Whoever came in their coaster, should go back to their own!" She yells indirectly.

"I'm going. I shouldn't have agreed to come here anyways." I tell Kim loud enough for her to hear.

Zoe and me leave and go back to our own coaster.

"Luna is so impertinent."

"Yeah." I say in a low voice. I'm hurt and pissed at the same moment. I shouldn't feel this way. It's fine. I need don't care.
"But you do care." My subconscious hits for the the third time...

I take a seat next to Lyra and rest my head against her shoulder.

"What happened?" Her voice is full of concern.

I ignore and shut my eyes close...
