I hear my name called out several of times but I just can't stop running. I know exactly who the voice belongs to.

"Lexi, Alexia!"

A speeding car is coming from the front, honking away for me to move aside. It's nearly just a feet away from me when a hand tugs at my arm, pulling me onto the pavement.

"What are you doing, Alexi? Now you want to kill yourself by coming under a car!? Are you out of your fucking mind!?" The voice shouts at me.

"I don't know, I uh- Shawn." I sob.

"What were you thinking of while running infront of a speeding car!?"

"Why do you even care? It wouldn't effect any of you'll if I came under a car and died."

"Are you kidding me! I care because you're my best friend! We all care for you, Lexi."

"Don't lie. If you did, you would have called out to me when I passed by, yet you completely ignored. All of you'll did."

"You think we ignored you?"

"Yes, none of you'll even noticed my presence."

"Are you kidding me? We all called out to you. Kim, Lucas, Anna,"

"He didn't," I don't know whether it sounds more like a statement or a question.

"He did. Zac did call out to you." He softens his eyes towards me.

"But he didn't come after me." I say in defeated tone, my eyes in contact with his looking for some sort of sympathy.

"You're the one who wanted space right? So, he's giving you." He says in a gentle tone.

How does he know? Did Zac tell him? Did he tell all of them? He shouldn't have, he couldn't have.

"Yeah, by wrapping his arms around her shoulders and giggling, by passing from right infront of me with his hand on the small of her back. That's the kind of space he's giving me?" I yell, releasing a long breath not aware of how long I've held it. I can make out he's trying to find the right words to explain everything and cover up for Zac. Why is he covering up for him anyways? He's supposed to be my best friend. Maybe he doesn't want the truth to hurt me so he's just trying to..

"It's not what you think, Lexi." He manages to speak.

"I don't know what to think!" I snap at him.

"Her name is Gwyneth. The introduction he gave us was just a friend."

"Friends with benefits, huh?"

"No! Lexi, you can't just assume stuff and jump to conclusions. I think it's better if you speak to him yourself."

"Okay, I'm going now."

"Where are you going?"

"Wherever." I snap at him and walk away.

"I get it, you need space. I won't bother you but just don't overthink and upset yourself. You can call me whenever, you know I'm there for you." He shouts aloud, not following me. Without responding, I continue to walk. I have no idea where I'm going but this I know, that I'm not on my way home infact I'm walking away from home.

......

As I enter in the house, I wish my mom who's seated in the bar stool, at the kitchen counter. "Good morning, Mom. Happy Easter!"

"Same to you, sweetie!" She says and rises from the stool, to poor me some tea. "Here," She places a tray filled with ham, bacon, sausages and a variety of other breakfast items.
