Jimin POV
We peak out of the room to see Namjoon running down the hall towards Taehyung's room.
"Mother what's with the screaming?!" He yells as he tries to open the door to the room, but it's locked. "HEY! LET ME IN!" He starts banging on the door. He starts kicking at it when it doesn't budge until it finally bursts open. The screaming continues. "LET HIM GO. LET HIM GO DAMN IT."
"I DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT." We hear Mrs. Kim yell back.
"He's your son! You're gonna kill him for fuck's sake!"
"I'd rather him die!"
"Min Seo! Jimin! Get in here and help me!"
We hurry in to the room and freeze in shock at the scene before us. On the right of the bed is a boy around Tae's age half naked, struggling to put his clothes on, visibly terrified. On the other side is Namjoon attempting to pull his mother off of Taehyung. Taehyung is on the floor shirtless with his mom's hands around his neck strangling him. There's scratches and cuts on his chest, arms and on his face.
Namjoon turns to look at us. "Don't just stand there! Min Seo get him out of here," he gestures to the still frightened boy "Get everyone out of the house. Tell them to stop what they're doing and leave." Min Seo does as she's told, and he turns his gaze on me. "Jimin! Help me get her off him before she kills him!" I rush to his side placing my hands on hers trying to pull them away from his neck. After a while of struggling I finally succeed. Taehyung starts coughing while trying to gasp for air trying to catch his breath. I see claw marks from his mother's hands from his neck.
"You're disgusting! You make me sick!" She yells as Namjoon struggles to carry her out of the room.
"Mother please!" Taehyung yells still trying to catch his breath. "I'm sorry!" He starts to sob in to his hands. I can't help but feel a sting at my eyes and a lump in my throat as I see the scene before me. Tae's on the floor with his knees on his chest sobbing. He looks completely broken. I take him in my arms and let him cry on my shoulder as I stroke his hair to try to calm him down. I hear Namjoon and his mother continue their yelling from downstairs.
"Get the hell out! Leave and don't come back until you're ready to be a mother!"
"He's disgusting!"
"NO! The only one here who is disgusting is you! Now leave before I call father!"
The front door then opens and slams close and footsteps can now be heard running up the stairs towards the room. Namjoon walks and gives me a nod as a reassurance that he will take it from here. I get up and let Namjoon take my place next to Tae, and holds the younger as he continues to sob in to his chest.
"I-I'm so s-s-sorry brother. I d-don't know what's wrong with m-me," he stutters. Namjoon pulls away and cups his face to look at him.
"Listen to me. There's nothing wrong with you. You know how crazy mom is," he says looking in to his eyes before continuing. "This is nothing to be ashamed of. This doesn't change how much I love you." He embraces him once more.
"We should leave. Let's give him some privacy." I hear Min Seo whisper from behind me. I nod in agreement and take one last look at the brothers embraced in each other's arms on the floor as if their lives depended on it.
~End of Flashback~
Silence took over as I finished reminiscing the event. I look around to see Jin looking at me in disbelief and Min Seo wiping her eyes as she remembers the unfortunate events that took place that day.
"What happened next?" Jin asked breaking the silence.
"I don't know. No one does," I say taking another sip of my tea. "We woke up the next morning and he was gone. Madame Kim took him some time during the night.. We didn't see him for over a month."
"That month gives me chills. I swear I thought Namjoon and Mrs. Kim were going to kill each other at some point." Min Seo added. We looked over at Jin, who looked like he was still trying to process everything.
"When was this?" He asked
"He was only sixteen," I answered.
"Where was his father?"
"He was off doing business in America. Come to think of it he was constantly gone that whole year."
"Why didn't Namjoon tell their father?"
"We don't know." Min Seo answered.
"Where did she take Tae?"
"We don't know," both Min Seo and I replied.
"Then what do you know?" He asked with a hint of frustration.
"Wherever his mom took him broke him down even more than the scene she caused in his room." Min Seo paused for a second then continued. "When he came back, he was different. He wouldn't talk to anyone. He looked so lifeless at first. Then he started drinking... a lot"
"That's when he started bringing girls over," I added. "He went from bad to worse instantly. During one of their charity events he got so drunk he climbed the roof of the clubhouse next to the pool yelled 'if I have to live with a demon then I rather not live' then jumped."
"As Namjoon was fishing him out of the pool something in Mr. Kim clicked, I guess, because he automatically kicked everyone out. He signed Tae up for therapy the very next day, and he stopped traveling so much. He had finally figured out something was wrong with his son. After a few months passed, Tae was starting to do better. He started talking to us more, and was going out with his friends and brother more often. We were seeing glimpses of the old Taehyung back." Min Seo smiled for a second before it turned back in to a frown. "Unfortunately there's only so much therapy can do. He still gets drunk every once in a while and brings a girl home, but that's only when his mom is here to witness it. He's funny and playful most of the time, but there are times something ticks him off and he becomes irrational and compulsive, so just give him time, Jin." Min Seo finishes.
"I guess you're right. I can't even picture going through what he must've gone through," Jin answered.
"Well that's more than enough gossip for one day," Min Seo says getting up. "Let's finish cleaning up so we can get some rest."
Jin POV
I toss and turn in my bed, but I can't seem to go to sleep as I had too many unanswered questions in my mind. Where was Tae taken to? What was done to him that took his will to live? Why didn't Namjoon tell their father about what happened? How could someone be so cruel to their own child?
Suddenly my thoughts were broken by a loud thump at the door.
